Newsom not only ran California into the ground, let LA burn in January, and has ruffled feathers amongst the extremist left with his recent comments and attempt to moderate.

AOC is dumb as they come but she can read a teleprompter passionately, is young, never has been a 'traitor' to the left's extremists, and is a female POC.

Also keep in mind a portion of MAGA are just interested in Trump and the fascination of a celebrity President. Unfortunately there's no doubt a portion of Trump's fanbase would be bored by Vance... who is competent and charming, but lacks the 'it' factor that Trump has.

Politics is completely unpredictable.
Vance isn't even a lock for the 2028 nomination, although its very very likely to be him.
