Women and weak men are the likely candidates to accept shit like this. The average woman is more likely than the average man to do things just for social validation/acceptance even if it doesn't make sense. Weak men are desperate for female attention so they'll do whatever the woman wants them to do.

I don't know or care to know the plot of the barbie movie but the guy in charge of marketing did his job well. Hes got both the facebook cat ladies and youtube controversy merchants worked up at once which seems to create a perpetual money machine
