My wife and I rented out our home in Huntington Beach, CA for two years and lived in Las Vegas, NV as I worked in technology with many of the big resorts. We looked into adoption in Nevada and started through the process. We got near the end when 9/11 happened and then Vegas shut down so we had to move before we completed it. While there, I met a young lady (25-30) range. She was single and grew up in the system. She never had a family. She was looking to adopt a special needs child as a single mom that no one else wanted. That's what this story reminded me of. Too many kids grow up without a loving parent. I don't care if he's gay, straight, purple, whatever, as long as he is going raise her with love and care.
