I've been saying for a while now that Corporate band-wagoning on this stuff is to distract from growing wealth inequality that flared up and was evidenced by the Occupy movement. The convo around CEO pay has largely disappeared and instead the plebs are talking about how racist everyone is - around the Western world - cuz you know, a white cop murdered a black person in America. Looks like someone else caught on.

The modern left (BLM era) is so out of touch with economic reality (there was a time where the left was actually well versed on realpolitik, economics, and imperialism extending from Vietnam War to Occupy) as they've come from "me first" anti-enlightenment liberal arts programs. They are largely extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) ignorant of how the world works, and ignorant of any topics of middle to advanced complexity, and/or topics that require logic and frameworks based on the truth (not, their truth, but empirical truth). They suck at maths, they don't bother with learning history beyond the most basic level, many of whom want to tell everyone how to live but have never even heard of the holocaust.

Big business knows at what level they want the conversation to be held, which is pleb level. The big inequality question is to be around whether the disposable gig worker is named Joe, Jamal, or Jagdeep. And whether they bang in the front pussy or back pussy.
