Short answer? The groomer accusations was happening way way way more often. It was the sudden plethora of them that caused the reaction.

If another poster calls you a Nazi, hit the report button. At a minimum that’s a delete, and would be cards from a problem poster or if they’d already had a delete warning once or twice
Fair enough. Appreciate the quick reply.

Now I'm not shitting on you, you're doing your job as a mod and I've become fairly familiar with you over the years you're a good dude.

However, as a mod please explain to me why calling someone a groomer who is exhibiting opinions and perspectives that backup the accusation is now against the rules but it's totally cool to call someone a Nazi just for being a conservative and showing zero actual views and perspectives that suggest they're supportive of Nazis or the holocaust whatsoever.

Do not say it's because grooming is worse than Nazism because they're both equally abhorrent.

This is what I was wondering and for basically the same reasons that Rygu was. Some posters drop pretty abhorrent accusations with nothing backing them like they were coming out of a salt and pepper shaker. And, hell, coded stuff is common parlance here... Run a search for "Sherfront" and see how it's common vernacular to just drop claims that someone is a white nationalist/Nazi/hardcore racist like it was nothing and with no consequences. I'm going to tell you, it's imbalances like this that bug me, not the ban on terms like the g word. Some of the abhorrent stuff that is so commonly and casually misapplied gets passes, but this one term gets an instant yellow card?

I know it's not you doing this Hockey - I'm just giving my general thoughts on the rule and the larger context. It's part of a larger cultural imbalance and you guys get your marching orders and that's that... But on a level of simple fairness and fostering decency between posters? It's BS, and I think people know it.

I agree, but it's a meme thread on a karate forum. This is not the battleground the matters.
I mean in general, not specifically the meme topic here on Sherdog.

You should tell that to the mods. The fuck

I don't take this place that serious. I also don't care about the rules all that much; it doesn't change how I post and pretty much don't get in trouble. It's just the internet, try to have some fun with it.

Also, I doubt hockey cares about terms like "groomer" and ":eek::eek::eek:" so I don't think it is his choice. If it was some of the other mods it would be more suspect.

People in suits who support this shit said so. Thats it. They will do as they are told, for free lol.

That's part of the gig. We also don't want Suredawg being tied to this word through searches as well. It was popping up all over the forum and the forum is tied to the main page. There's plenty of people who visit the Dawg and never hit the forum. We're enforcing an edict from the top. I don't see why this is so difficult to understand.

"You're just an extension of the man, man".

Well yeah, no shit, lol.

Hello all, there's been an official update to the war room rules in regards to :eek::eek::eek:/groomer accusations both against fellow posters, and against public figures and groups. Please check it out here.

This rule addition/clarification is needed because accusing someone of horrible crimes - of committing them or condoning them or attempting to commit them - has always been against the rules of this site and its parent company. These are terms that you agree to when you post here. Any reckless accusations could get the poster and / or the site in trouble with anyone who is litigious. It could show up in a search engine which is not desirable for you or any of us. Never make unsubstantiated or reckless allegations without proof. Any such accusation could result in a formal investigation or a lawsuit being filed against the poster or against the site. It can also lead toward bad blood between posters. We want to keep the forum running smoothly. If you have any questions, please reread the forum rules here. This is in keeping with the rules and the spirit of this forum. This rule update should also help for increased consistency across the forum staff, although as always there is still discretion involved. Thank you.

Picked the worst possible method of getting bad words mentioned less and picked up by SEO less. Instead of ... a word filter like you have with....

Yeah, probably shouldn't post that again. Got damn this place is the drizzling shits. Back to the Heavies! Lol.

I appreciate his even keeled warnings. Things get spicy when the red blooded feel kids are getting targeted.

He could just tell people to read the rules, instead he's in here trying to discuss the situation. The hero this sub doesn't realize it needed.
