This was an A+ interview by @StevenCrowder tbh and definitely the best one KR-15 has done so far: great banter, great co-host, some great advice, an awesome kid. Nice.

One thing to consider is that heavier rifles just last longer because, like a diesel engine, they're built to endure heavier rounds(or higher compression rates in diesel). No AR-15 can last for 50 years of daily use. The FAL can. I lost my pictures but I was firing an actual rifle used by daily dumb conscripts made in 1964. Rio's police also use these old Belgian made FALs and although they look like crap they still work. The ARs just don't last as much and when selecting among beat up equipment it's best to get the 1964 FAL than the 1995 M16 if you wanna survive. I'm not sure about the AKs, the early ones were quite solidly built too.

The AK's strength is probably in the over-engineering of its internals, there's so much clearance that even poorly constructed ones tend to have more durable reliability than the average rifle. I would trust any Kalash that has at least had its primary components manufactured in Russia, Serbia or Romania to last indefinitely, but I have far less trust in Norinco (China, lol) or Maadi (Egypt) among the major producers.

Only time I saw my dad lose his cool when I was a kid:

There was a knock on the door one evening. My dad answered it. Standing at the door was a next door neighbor. I didn't even know the guy's name because the houses were back to back. His house was literally in another street even though we had adjacent lots.

The guy said to my dad that the fence between our two yards was incorrectly installed (it was built years before this conversation) and he expected it to be moved six feet more into our property.

My dad's reply was a simple "Get the f*** off my property".

That was the last I heard of this issue.

And when it comes to AK clones, stamped vs. milled is a pretty big variable in the durability equation. Personally, I would never run a stamped AK.

This is timely. <45>
O yea, my "fiance" actually asked me what I wanted for X-Mas yesterday and I told him a Sharps Bros milled receiver and Russian spec rivets for the AK I want to build next year. He looked at me like I was fucking crazy, and speaking in another language or some shit. 4Chan had a real point here, but it's not as easy as you would think. :(

But you are even more discriminating than I am. I'd run a stamped all day provided it came from Izhmash, Cugir or Zastava, and tbh we are talking about tens of thousands of rounds before durability became an issue between the two. This is a question of extreme relativity IMO -- It's like: A stamped AK isn't as durable as a milled AK, just more durable than anything else aside from that. You know what though? There's a real question on the matter of accuracy, which tips towards milled as well.

Lol, at first I tried pronouncing it like the last syllable in "Fibonacci."
