Measles outbreak in Gaines county, Texas.

RFK Jr will save them
he will save himself and any one in his family by making sure they are all vaccinated just as DeSantis did in Florida, while at the same time hoarding vaccine for the richest floridians and spreading misinformation to the magat derps so they would opt out.

Magat derps... the poorly educated. <lmao>

I can't speak for what the right would have done if Trump remained.
I can only speak to what the Liberal media/democrats would've done. Remember that spread in the NYT(or WAPO...one of those rags) who posted the names of all the deaths from Covid. Yeah, that would've been a spread of all the people who died or were injured by the evil Trump vaccine.

They already set the table before the election, with that loser...umm...Camel something, saying she wouldn't trust a vaccine coming from the Trump administration. That's really all you need to know about how differently the whole thing would've been treated if Trump had won.

LOL Not you, I meant the author. There are small measles outbreaks every year, they happen all over the US. A lot of these articles started popping up after covid, pushing vaccinations of all sorts because the word had sort of developed a negative meaning among some people. Best I can tell, most people are still getting their kids their basic vaccinations, same as they have for years. The measles shot isn't 100% foolproof, so these little outbreaks can happen anywhere.
They are part of the MMR package. Measles, Mumps, Rubella. One shot for all 3.

It can happen. If you're unvaccinated, your chances of catching it go up. I feel bad for the teen boys that get it, it's possible they can become sterile. :(
Isn’t it Mumps that sterilize?

Isn’t it Mumps that sterilize?

Measles has a chance of making males sterile also.

Better safe than firing blanks.

I've been reading up on measles and found an interesting and scary aspect of contracting it. It basically erases your immune system's memory. Any diseases or illnesses that you already had immunity to is wiped out and you are susceptive to the whole gamut of bugs out there once again.

Weird how not a single Republican politician who took it, including the very elderly ones, have reported a single adverse effect to them. Youd think among hundreds of Republicans there would be one high-profile case that they could have used as political fodder for their "covid measures are Nazism" campaign, and yet there wasnt a single one. No right wing pundits either. Faux News had a covid vaccine mandate to continue working there, most news entities did. No pundits or politicians were harmed.

Talking about the Covid shot here? If you're genuinely curious about personal anecdotes, check out the vaccinelonghauler subreddit. Most of the people there were hardcore leftists, pro-vaccine people before getting injured.

I go to reddit to see which flavor of Tillamook ice cream is the best, or what dish sponge people use. Reddit should not shape your opinion on vaccines nor should anecdotal stories.

The man specifically asked for anecdotes, I gave him a place to find some. You don't know me, buddy, don't insult my intelligence. I know more about critical thinking than you, chances are.

In terms of facts and data, all this stuff was discussed ad nauseum during Covid. We had entire megathreads talking about it. At this point nobody will be changing their minds about anything. We're not going to over things that have been discussed over and over again, forever. At some point you take it on board or you don't.

Calm your tits, buddy. My bad.

Measle cases over the past 5 years (since COVID-19 and general vaccine skepticism has been elevated) have been drastically down since 2019 and earlier years.

Data from CDC since 1985 on measle cases:

19852,822
19866,255
19873,652
19883,410
198917,914
199027,808
19919,643
19922,126
1993312
1994899
1995308
1996492
1997141
1998100
199999
200085
2001116
200244
200356
200437
200566
200655
200743
2008140
200972
201063
2011220
201255
2013187
2014667
2015191
201686
2017120
2018381
20191,274
202013
202149
2022121
202359
2024285
202514

There is no statistical link between higher measle case numbers and vaccine skepticism brought from COVID-19 vaccinations. In fact some of the lowest years in terms of measle cases have been 2020, 2021 and 2023. The amount of cases is so low that it's hard to get statistical relevance due to the inherent entropy of disease spreading.

On top of that, the population has increased dramatically since 1985, almost 50% more, so you would expect 50% more measle cases (actually even higher since population density has also increased in that same time frame and disease generally tracks higher with higher population density).

What makes this topic so funny/frustrating, is that the people who parrot on about “l trust science” are literally ignoring the science. And they’re belligerent about it. WTF.

It's interesting how people are careful to not go too far in their "skepticism." The Covid jabs were just too rushed, didn't get enough testing, that's why a lot of people were killed and injured by it. It's one big coincidence, not malicious at all, and all the other jabs are fine and dandy. Are they though? In other words, the only skepticism allowed in the Overton window is skepticism that doesn't threaten the paradigm in any shape or form. People on substack got their hands on childhood vaccination vials. Can you guess what they discovered when they sent it for heavy metal testing and looked at it under a dark field microscope? The idea that this stuff is safe is laughable. They won't even disclose to you the ingredient list. It's a leap based on faith and trust in Big Pharma, nothing else. At minimum, when the safety of your child is concerned, it should be "trust but verify." Not exactly a high bar, is it?
Here's the ingredients list of the Priorix MMR vaccine we get. Took me thirty seconds to find it here :https://info.health.nz/immunisation...rubella-mmr-vaccine#which-vaccine-is-used-211

Not sure about others, or if is different over your way but this isn't particularly hidden or secret.

What PRIORIX contains Active ingredient (main ingredient) Live weakened measles, mumps and rubella viruses in a dry powder. Each 0.5 mL dose contains not less than:  103.0 CCID50 (cell culture infectious dose 50%) of the Schwarz measles  103.7 CCID50 of the RIT 4385 mumps, and  103.0 CCID50 of the Wistar RA 27/3 rubella virus strains.
