*** 'McGregor Forever' - Netflix Documentary Discussion Mega Thread ***

At the end of the day, khabib was too afraid of losing.

retired in his prime and never really cemented his legacy as one of the best.

If he had defended a few more times and moved up for another title, he might be spoken about in the same reverence as a fedor or even anderson silva. Sadly no.

You're a moron.

its rare in these times that someone actually follows through on what they have said. even moreso in combat sports - how many have gone on too long and taken hard losses they shouldnt have? Khabib committed himself to his plan and so far has followed through with it. is it too early for us, the fans? fuck yeah, i wanted to see how far he could go. i think he couldve easily made 3-4 more defenses. but only one man can decide when Khabib is done, and thats Khabib himself.

What the fuck are you talking about?
  • His mom asked him not to fight again and he went and fought Justin instead
  • His dad asked him to get to 30-0 and retire then and he retired at 29-0 instead once his dad was no longer around
The guy did whatever the fuck he wanted, including retiring when he did, and it's the weirdest thing how you guys accept the bullshit propaganda he tells you to instead of just looking at his actions to determine his thoughts and motives.

The guy laughs behind his back every time he tells you the most absurd things and you believe him.

Can't believe Conor took the fight to Khabib like that considering he basically only had on foot. Incredible.

Normal human beings can't even remotely relate to this elite man, that's why when he says something like this, they think it's an excuse, because they could never dream of having the fortitude Conor has to pull it off.

I include myself in the normal group of course, I'm simply in awe instead of the using the desperate attempts to psychologically comfort one's ego as a defense mechanism, as Conor haters do.

too scared to lose?

he fought everyone dana put in front of him lol. I remember all the talk about how Oliveira / Chandler were the guys that would take it to him lmao. Now everyone is on the volk train because he won 20 seconds of a 25 minute fight.

He pretty clearly retired when he did because he no longer could make LW (not that he ever consistently could), and was going to have to move back to WW to continue fighting.

And fighting at WW would risk losing much more than fighting at LW. He was the current LW champion with 3 defences, they're not giving him #15 when he moves up.

Conor could still be an elite LW with the right mindset. He needs to drop the aggressive walk down approach and go back to being a pressure based counter striker.
Top 10 LW maybe. Elite, probably not given his age, hard weight cut due to recent weight gains, lack of cardio, lack of ground game and KO power not really translating that well from 145 to 155. Other than the one fight with Alvarez (which he was gifted by jumping a long line), McGregor hasn't done squat in the LW division or the WW division.

Laid it on the line and got beat..

Hurts like hell..

the aftermath of that was to this day retarded..

I wonder if you're sincerely this stupid.

Back when Conor still looked like Conor, the facial features.

Conor always goes on an angry trash talking bender whenever he loses, despite claiming to be humble in defeat (he has never been humble in defeat in the UFC)

The important thing is that Conor's fans were personally disgraced as well that night.

95 percent of his fanbase are life losers who live vicariously through Conor because they are meek and mild in real life, but secretly want to be boisterous and charismatic. Mediocre jobs and career prospects, but desperately wanting to be rich, etc....

Any Conor fan with integrity would have apologized to the rest of the board that night. But basically no one did.
Khabib and Conor both have shit-tier fanbases who constantly make threads

Like one fanbase is any less obnoxious than the other.

Observing karma. Big stage means no hiding. Rewards come with risks. Kudos to every fighter for getting in that cage. Bigger kudos to karma for shaping us all.
Except karma is one of the biggest load of bullshit ever created.
