*** 'McGregor Forever' - Netflix Documentary Discussion Mega Thread ***

Khabiebers blasting Conor for "assaulting" (lol, one slap) an "old man" (he was in his 40s) but Khabib hating on women not covered in cloth head to toe is fine. Only in the sad bleak world of the Conor hater is a bar room brawl a bigger deal than women's rights.

I haven’t watched all of it but pretty disappointing so far. Doesn’t really show us a ton we haven’t already seen in some capacity. Also kind of glosses over the controversies and never really shows the nitty gritty. Don’t really get to find out much about the man behind the myth either as Conor always is very aware he’s being filmed and usually talking directly to the camera. It comes off more like a McGregor hype fluff piece than a real hard hitting documentary.
It's not a documentary made for hardcore MMA fans, it's made for the casual audience who don't know much about Mcgregor outside of his fights.

"Reasonable men never achieve anything"

1) It's not only a cliché catchphrase, I'd argue it's also very wrong. The implicit meanings and corollaries aren't much better.
Not even motivational poster level.

2) Promoting unreasonable behavior to McGregor fans is a great idea lol

3) That doesn't necessarily means the documentary is bad, I might have a look at it (I'm gonna delve into the thread beforehand to make my mind, it might be entertaining for bad reasons too after all :D)

Hard to watch it’s full of lies.

Hate the story of him being a poor plumber, he worked for his dads company along with 20 other plumbers his daddy employed, he didn’t live in crumblin either at that stage as his daddy was very wealthy and they had moved to leafy Lucan. It’s a good story, but complete bull shit.

He failed to mention why he quit boxing also, he quit because he wasn’t good enough to make it to the Olympics, he then transitioned to mma.

Mcgregor was on welfare, driving an old, rusty Pugeot to the gym. Far from wealthy, this man came from poverty

How dare you refer to this god as merely a guy. He’s the god of combat and his lore shall not end with one documentary on Netflix. I don’t know if I can stomach Jones and Conor fanboys today
Maybe you can get out of Sherdog if your stomach cant take it??

I didn't like it....it seemed staged to state that Conor only lost fights because he was fighting injured. I don't buy it...I'm still a fan of him because of the impact he has had on the sport, but this doc glosses over plenty...

McManlet bought the pub and banned the old man from the pub. Disrespecting women is certainly not funny but Cuntard cheated on his babies mama which is worse than having a different opinion about women’s wear…

That Doctor Julian Dalby fella seems like a right Quack.

Edit: Found this old interview with him
Apparently he had a swastika on his cycling helmet and fed live cats to his python (who he ended up frying alive)

Seems like all the knowledge about cutting edge doping methods might come in handy in the world of mma ...I mean, to protect his PED-free clients from their cheating opponents of course.

Just finished watching this.

Probably the worst MMA documentary I have seen.

Was pretty much just UFC embedded clips (wouldn't be surprised if they just reused a lot of them) meshed with old pre-fight interviews off Youtube that had a cringey 90s camcorder filter applied to them even though the originals were only from the mid 2010s.

Felt like a cheap promo thing for his supposed "return" this year. Like he hired a little production team to just edit the footage together for cheap and then went to Netflix saying "You wanna free doc on one of the world's most famous athlete's? Just promise you'll promote it on the front page of your site." And Netflix says "sure, why not?"
