McGregor/Diaz fight at 170 on purpose

I can't believe this rematch is even being considered. I'll guess they will keep doing rematches until they get the result they want "see he finally beat him!...we told you!". I'm glad I stop paying a cent to anything UFC 6 years ago.

Obviously Nate would make bank but as far as sport it does Nate no good. He now has to beat the same guy twice just to stay where he is already at, which is the guy who beat Conor.

I can't think of another situation even in the same ballpark where it was so obvious a fight was made hoping to get a specific fighter the win. Even going so far as putting off his first title defense twice.

No its because UFC desperately wants that Conor vs GSP matchup they had lined up before Diaz ruined it lol

GSP is twice the size of Conor and possibly the best MMA wrestler ever. Conor and the UFC would never want that.

Which is obvious why Nate took the fight, just like his brother all they want is the pay day fights and not interested to put in the discipline as the champs do. I doubt Diaz cares if he did lose, he will make millions again and can just retire after the fight

Yeh but a GSP that has been out of action for some time now, there has to be a reason why GSP attended UFC 196 sitting at the front. Like many of the media said, GSP never attends UFC events anymore and the main event was a WW fight. I agree that the GSP of old would maul him though

Dude is never fighting at 145 again. McGregor knows it. His trainer knows it. DW knows it. They no if he steps on a scale it will never say 145 again and he's going to have to vacate so they need to get him another title fight before he goes been to contender's status and gets butchered in the process. If Conor beats Nate he's going to fight for the LW or WW title. Dude is never fighting Frankie.

I kinda think that too. Did the iv ban come before or after the Aldo fight?

I have been watching UFC live since UFC 1. And I can honestly say that I have NEVER given any money to the UFC.

They might be looking down the road at trying to set up Conor vs Lawler for a huge payday for Conor. The funny thing about this fight to me is that against MJ, Nate's physique looked better than ever, and now he has a full camp to put that muscle back on plus not cut to 155. We're going to see Uber Nate in the rematch.

Of course. My point is though that this fight was made to try to get Conor the win. That's just shitting over the last shred of sport and integrity that was left after the last few years. They aren't even pretending any more.

I would never guessed

I wonder if this argument has something to do with why the McGregor vs Diaz I was on 170lbs in the first place

huge if true

Lol at Conors career ever being over. He makes the ufc money even on a 5 fight losing streak.

if they wanna do it at welterweight then let nick diaz fight conor. then they can at least say that conor went up two weight classes, instead of saying he got destroyed twice by a fat out of shape lightweight
That would be rad. If he wants to fight at ww, fight an actual welterweight.

Conor vs Nick would be rad. Except for Conor, it wouldn't be so fun for him.

True. GSP would take him down immediately and ground and pound him out. It would be competitive or even entertaining. At least Nate will fight him on his feet to keep it exciting.

100% true. Ppl should be tweeting Dana and letting him know we want relevant fights. Not this bullshit.
