After Conor loses again he still has "smaller guy" excuse and can still try at 155. If Nate beats Conor at 155 then Conor's only option is FW (Which he might never be able to make again).

So in essence, Dana/Conor can capitalise on 3 more fights this way before Conor's career is officially over.

No, it was made purely by accident.

TS just wanted to underscore the blatant hypocrisy the UFC engages in when making big fights.

It's at WW because Conor isn't scared, homie.

I agree

I think the UFC is just putting out feelers now to see the interest, and find the best move to make from a business point of view.

If they deem this fight to be the one that makes the most money, they will officially announce it. If they think Frankie is the fight to make, they will announce that.

I think people will want to see this one again. Let Frankie fight Aldo.

Maybe Conor will hold a press conference before the event announcing that he is relinquishing the title....

Dude is never fighting at 145 again. McGregor knows it. His trainer knows it. DW knows it. They no if he steps on a scale it will never say 145 again and he's going to have to vacate so they need to get him another title fight before he goes been to contender's status and gets butchered in the process. If Conor beats Nate he's going to fight for the LW or WW title. Dude is never fighting Frankie.

if they wanna do it at welterweight then let nick diaz fight conor. then they can at least say that conor went up two weight classes, instead of saying he got destroyed twice by a fat out of shape lightweight

If Conor loses again they still have the option of an immediate rematch at 155, because that's his natural weight class and he is so courageous to go up two weight classes and fight a huge welterweight. He'll deserve the opportunity to prove himself at 155 because he's so brave and this will really really prove who's better between him and Nate.

Nate used to compete at 170 so it's ok.

Holy shit I thought this whole time it was because Nate couldn't make 155 because he was partying in Cabo but okay your reason sounds better.

I normally wouldn't respond, or " like " such blatant pandering... but... as basic and obvious as it is...

TS IS 100 % RIGHT.

Intetesting perspective. Maybe they think he has a better chance against Robbie than RDA? Though after the Nick fight i think Robbie knocks Conor's head into Joe Rogan's lap

Seems to me like the UFC's biggest draw put forward the proposal that he gets a shot at immediately redeeming his loss against the same opponent, under the same conditions. The UFC agreed to it because he's their money tree and they will make a lot of money from the fight. I don't see how it's any more complicated than that.

No the reason it is at 170 is b/c if Conor fought at 155, ppl would be like.

"why you fighting Nate and not RDA?"

UFC don't want to come out and say that RDA now believes Conor is beneath him, so Conor cannot fight at 155 at all.
