Max Kellerman MMA Expert since UFC 1

I'm sorry but for all of you who have drugged out your memories, I do specifically remember Max bagging on MMA in the early years. only in the last 7 years or so as MMA began taking off into the mainstream did he finally see the light.

With that said. I'm not a Max hater though, love his boxing commentary and his thoughts on things. At least Stephen A. admits he's not an MMA expert and doesn't even try to go there anymore.

It's all good Max, we love you no matter what, but you don't need to be an MMA expert like Joe Rogan anyway, so don't even try to be.

Talk to me when Max is on this level

Boss Nass always gets the first question because he's eaten all of the other journalists.

Too bad he's not on first take anymore. Smartest man, even he does have clown takes on politics. Hasn't even had even guested since he was booted off, maybe there is truth to Stephen A and him not getting along.

He definitely watched. He was interested in how the boxing aspect would play out, at a minimum.
Especially since that dude with one boxing glove came in with some hype. Art Jimmerson i believe

Love listening to Jorge speak so it is a great video, but LMAO at Max's very first statement trying to fool the listeners into thinking he has some sort of real streat cred in MMA.

He didn't say expert. He just said he watched. You think he's lying?

Max is incredibly passionate about boxing. He's got to play the ESPN game now but on HBO was one of the best analysts there was in regards to boxing, hands down.
Yeah back in the day when they had HBO boxing after dark Max was awesome. I still don't mind him because he asked a good question about how does a boxer neutralize a wrestler. Of course as we've seen it's not easy to do so.

I had to watch that and it is actually not as bad as I expected. he's no Tupac or Nas or biggie but compared to a lot of the garbage out there today it's not half bad
When I first starting watching mma I watched all the interviews. Now not so much. I prefer watching cards from any organization. And yeah I gotta say in that interview he didn't bug me much in fact to me he seemed kinda chill. Granted that's probably because I'm more into watching the actual fight and haven't had time or desire to watch a lotta interviews.

It seems the only reason people dont like Max is because he's on ESPN. You never hear a complaint about the things he actually says, only where he is when he says them. Dudes been commentating on combat sports longer than most Shertards have been watching MMA.

Dudes 48, he had a public access boxing show as a fucking teenager.

Sports broadcasting
Kellerman's first broadcasting experience was as a teenager on a New York City public-access television cable TV program on professional boxing called Max on Boxing. Given the medium, the show was quite simple but nevertheless caught the attention of the boxing community, including a young Mike Tyson.

Well, I listen to a lot of ESPN radio throughout the day. In the lead up to Conor/Dustin 2, Max was talking about how Conor/Nate 2 was his favorite MMA fight. He went on and on about how impressed he was because Conor was fighting someone 3 times his size. He actually said that on the radio. And he wasn't joking.

He's great when it comes to boxing. I don't hate him at all. But I don't need to hear his MMA takes.
