Max Kellerman MMA Expert since UFC 1

That dude is such an insufferable, phony, along with pretty much everyone else at ESPN who isn't a former athlete
and even some of the former athletes suck.
honestly TNT got the best of the bunch with Kenny, Chuck and Charles. Kendrick Perkins is awful.
Jalen Rose is ok but sometimes he tries too hard.

Max Kellerman is literally a Boxing philosopher. His Boxing knowledge is insane and I wouldn’t be surprised if his MMA knowledge surpasses most sherdoggers.

I guarantee you it does. There are a lot of idiots on sherdog.

Max is very respected in boxing circles. Not sure wth you’re talking about.
Ok, Stephen A Smith knows Basketball, doesn't make me like him lol. And yeah, the rap thing speaks to him having the celebrity, fame/status-obsessed complex which means he's probably not a great person, that's just how he comes off to me, I could be wrong.

Ok boomer.

Max is incredibly passionate about boxing. He's got to play the ESPN game now but on HBO was one of the best analysts there was in regards to boxing, hands down.
separate but somewhat related his brother (and former rap group partner) befriended a boxer and let him stay with him. when he asked the boxer to leave he killed him with a hammer and set the apartment on fire. was sentenced to 29 years

I knew that as well. Depressing.

Max is a boxing historian and encyclopedia. I have no doubt he turned in to UFC1.

I remember Kellerman checking Jim Lampley I believe during a boxing broadcast where Lampley called MMA undisciplined and not a real sport or some shit.

He sounds like he's on ephedra or something, Lampley/Larry Merchant/Lederman sound old and staid. Don't doubt his enthusiasm but I think he goes off into the deep end sometimes but I don't follow boxing that well even in the 90s/2000s.

all he did was say he's been watching since UFC 1....what's wrong with that? I understand past trauma's of ESPN and EA Sports trying to underestimate the intelligence of the average MMA fan, but ESPN has been trying their best to give the sport more coverage and evolve in how its discussed.

Max saying he's been watching since UFC 1 is plausible and low-hanging fruit to earn our respect and build trust, let him have this. The more work they have to do on the sport the better they will become at understanding how to communicate the nuances to the broader audience.

If you want more knowledgeable analysts then your fight is with the UFC and who they allow to cover their promotion on the major networks. Don't blame the commentators.

Max has street cred from his boxing analysis, and being a rapper.
