Do you see another belt in Max's future?

Love Max, but he had his shot at 155, and we know what happened.

Holloway is only 28 and has been fighting the best of the best in his division for years now. That was his first time going up to that weight and was a big change against a guy who already beat his ass once. Give Max some time to adjust to the weight and put on a little mass and it might be a different story.

One loss doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t fight at that weight anymore. If he plans on fighting another 8-10 years then there is still a ton of fights left to be made.

It wasn't a competitive war. I don't want Max to get cte. A few more Poirier fights will cause that.
Max definitely had moments. Poirier even admitted Max hurt him in a round
Poirier is a very good fighter. He'll be fine af 155

Max is the most overrated champ in MMA

Mediocre fighter when he isn't fighting people at 145 who he has a foot of height on. He will be a journeyman at 155
I feel like a broken record saying this over and over but he has a 69" reach, he usually doesn't have the reach advantage and as far as height goes he's beaten Will Chope (6'4) Cole Miller (6'1) Clay Collard (6') Fili (5'11) Oliveira (5'10) Pettis (5'10) and of course all of those guys had the reach advantage as well.

I may be biased because I like Dustin but I dont think Hollow vs Dustin was that close.

It was a unanimous 49-46 decision, so all judges scored Dustin with 4 rounds and Max with 1.

That said, Max shouldn't feel discouraged to try again at LW after Khabib retires.

He would need to bulk up. The power differential against Dustin was way too big.

he fought at 155 once and had a tough fight, that doesn't make him a journeyman in the least bit

Yeah, I remember seeing a pic of him on the scale and the dude looked like death.

I would love to see Max move up to 155.
So many great fights for him there. He had a competitive war with Poirier as well, Who's a top 3-4 LW on the planet.

He's only 28 and stopped the GOAT FW with strikes TWICE. That's amazing. He doesn't have much left to prove at 145. Respect to Max.

He's a fighter that I truly believe when he says he wants to fight the best and welcomes all challenges.

Have you ever said anything positive about another fighter ? (not khabib)

Max has a good chance of beating Khabib. Just because Dustin beat him standing, it doesn't mean Khabib would beat him via grappling. Styles make fights.

Khabib would ragdoll him as if he was weightless, and then Max would be completely outmatched on the ground.

Ya just because he lost to Poirier doesnt mean he shouldnt fight at 155. Any guy that walks around in the 180s shouldnt be at 145.

You may be right but the question is whether he'll be champion in a higher weight class.

I thought he did quite well vs Dustin but i don't ever see him beating Khabib, Tony and do a lesser extent Conor.

Love Max's martial arts spirit though! He's a great fighter.

I love Max, but a simple 'Oh I won't cut as much weight and weigh in at 155' just won't cut it.

Poirier is probably the #3 Lightweight in the world, and he tuned Max up in their fight. It wasn't a blowout, but it was 100% clear who won that fight by a respectable margin.

Then Poirier got dominated by Khabib.

I'm not a fan of using MMA math as absolute certainty as to who would win fights, but after watching both fights only fools would bet money on Max beating Khabib.

Yeah, I know Max is amazing on the ground, but being on the bottom of Khabib is a whole 'nother monster from anyone else in the sport.

So, I get that Max wants to become a legend as being identified as being one of the greatest MMA fighters, but moving up to 155 isn't going to help his argument.

His better bet is to stay at 145 and rule it until retirement, and hope Henry wants to move up. Beating a champ-champ who wants to become a champ-champ-champ would be a major resume enhancement.

If Tony loses to Khabib let's do Max vs Tony and if Max wins, he'll make his move to LW permanent.

I don't care how tall Max is or how fat he gets out of camp, his frame is too small for 155.

Dammit Max, I hate it when fighters talk about their future just ahead of a big bout. Focus on what's in front of you, not your next 6 fights.

Wasn't close at all

49-45 Porier

the scorecards weren't close but the fight was. Dustin beat him the first 3 rds easy, but rds 4 and 5 Dustin has even admitted that he was close to being finished and had to really mentally drive himself to carry on in those championship rounds. also, it was the knee that finally did Max in. after that huge cut Max stopped dead in his tracks from advancing.

If max trained like a Sumo he'd bulk up to 215 and he could fight at 185
