Yes and to critique somebody's boxing in an MMA fight is about as dumb as you can get. Boxing is sport specific. Mcgregor may have the best hands in an MMA bout, especially 3 round fights, but in a professional boxing bout many guys in the UFC stop him, especially Diaz and Poirier and probably Holloway.

But in MMA, holloway just embarrassed Kattar with his hands and Kattar is probably the best actual boxer in that division if it isn't Holloway. So I don't get your point at all.

He’s got solid MMA boxing, would it translate to the ring very well? I can’t say it would.

As an MMA boxer he’s top notch at drawing guys into brawls which benefits his style. One thing that worries always is how much he leads and relies on his chin. But talking MMA he has an amazing control of distance, his eyesight is amazing he rolls well with strikes and the way he throws his shots off rhythm is fantastic. His biggest issue is Max seems to have no plan B, when he can’t overwhelm you with volume, his game falls flat and doesn’t adjust or try and at least grapple.

The point is that in terms of an actual pure boxing skill set Max isn’t that good. “Striker” would be a better term to use.

DP and max are basically the same weight and Dustin beat him in the stand up which was predominantly boxing. Not sure how anyone can disagree, it happened.
