Matchups to make in the Welterweight Division

Welterweight is arguably the best division in the UFC right now, even before Makhachev became Champion I thought it had surpassed lightweight to become the deepest division.

Here are some welterweight fights I really want to see:

JDM vs Ian Garry: I don't care if Ian wins or loses to Belal, the JDM camp absolutely hates Ian Garry & it's an amazing style matchup. You can't really give Garry a title shot on a 2 fight win streak (if he beats Belal), make him fight JDM.

Michael Morales vs Shavkat Rakhmanov: I feel like Morales is way too green to get a title shot right now. He was taken down by Jake Matthews and not sure you should rush a great prospect to a TS against the best fighter in the world to get wrestlefudged & ruin his confidence. Shavkat has been out for a while and it'll be a fun fight to watch، 2 undefeated guys going at it.

Belal Muhammad vs Carlos Prates: Ideally I would like to see Usman fight Belal but that's never going to happen. Prates vs Belal will be an excellent fight, it would be interesting to see Prates knockout another former champion.

Burns v Buckley: both short stocky fighters, it'll be interesting to see if Burns still has it in him or Buckley destroys burns like he did Covington.

That leaves Brady, Usman & Makhachev, like it or not it seems like UFC is going to make Islam vs Usman, they seem to be really pushing for it, Usman has been looking kinda old lately so it seems like the UFC is going to give him a farewell championship fight, Dana for some reason really likes Usman and I won't be surprised this fight gets made for the Whitehouse card since Kamaru campaigned for Trump & Islam is suddenly desperate to fight at the white house.

Is like to see Kamaru fight Brady if he does get the title shot.

I would like to see Brady fight Bonfim if Usman is unavailable & is like to see Geoff Neal KO Leon Edwards.

Makhachev can fight Topuria or wait for a contender to merge at Welterweight.

If Garry wins Saturday he'd be close to a title shot, closer than Usman anyway.

Morales vs Garry if not, Shavkat vs Prates
Brady vs Buckley. Belal Leon rematch.

You can basically mix & match all the guys in your list including MVP and have all great matchups

King Islam can watch the tournament unfold and welcome one next summer

No thanks. Usman was dominated by Leon in his last title shot, and knocked out cold by Leon before that. The same Leon got slept by Prates, who Islam has no interest in for some reason.

There's also the #1 p4p guy Topuria at 17-0 and the rightful #1 contender at 170 Morales who's 19-0. But Islam wants Usman who is 1-3 in his last 4. The 1 win being a desperate lay and pray performance over Buckley ffs. Before that he was alternating wins between Masvidal and Covington. Fuck outta here with that shit.
