It could be bullshit but this is what Islam said back in April.

"I'm not surprised [he turned it down] because this guy talks about rematch all his life, but... This is maybe the 3rd or 4th time UFC gave him a chance to fight me and he said no... The UFC told me 'We give you opponent after UFC 300' I knew if Arman beat Oliveira he [would] never take this fight."

Nah you're right. Arman turned down islam fight when Dariush fell through and Islam needed a replacement. They were both on the same card aswell..

This makes it the third time Arman has been the cause for the rematch not happening.

Jiri Prochazka vs. Blachowicz/Ulberg winner - Great rebound for Jiri. I like this as his next step.
Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Deiveson Figueiredo - TBH part of me wants a rematch as I think Umar won the fight. But a win is a win and a loss is a loss. I like this as Umar's next step.
Merab Dvalishvili vs. Petr Yan II - I could potentially see an Umar rematch. Otherwise Yan is the only one in the top 5 coming off a win.
Renato Moicano vs. Paddy Pimblett - This is definitely the fight to make IMO. The build up will be great.
Islam Makhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan - I do think this fight needs to be rebooked. I can see the UFC being petty however and perhaps giving it to Gaethje should he beat Hooker.
