Just finished ME1 tonight. Got the Platinum trophy all in one play through. I think my total playtime was around 33hours. I was a bit surprised it took me that long because I figured I would be able to kind of blast through it but some parts took longer than expected.

Overall I gotta say for a 14 year old game it's still really good. Doesn't really feel too "old" except for the at times terrible AI and lack of hit stun.

I'm super pumped to start ME2. Might not be able to really get into it tomorrow but hoping to play it soon.

I was on Therum and I hit an imaginary bump and ended up wedged halfway in the ground. A level 8 hazard killed me lol

I began a second playthrough last night and this one is going to set up my choices for the other two. I plan on romancing Miranda, so I might save Kaidan, which I've never done.
My "canon" Shepard romances Miranda but I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do for ME1 romance. I was thinking of romancing Ashley and then

letting her die lol

Also, what's the etiquette for spoilers? Game is old af but I'm sure lot of new people will be checking it out too?

So, I was wrong about this. You can't romance her and then let her get blown up. I could have swore that I did that before but the romance happens after that. So I guess I'm not remembering things correctly lol.

Yep, you...

...can talk to Ashley and Kaiden socially before Vermire, then after saving one they become interested romantically. Rather if you're FemShep Kaiden begins to flirt and as Shepard Ashley begins to flirt, and then you have the option to bang before the final mission.

Its the same with Miranda in ME2, she only becomes a romantic option if you're Shepard and earn her loyalty during that mission you save her sister.

That's one of the annoyances with the 'Butt Controversy' in the months leading up to the Legendary Edition's release. Bioware's development team justified it by asking "Why is the camera focused on Miranda's butt in this conversation?" And they act like they have no idea, so they changed it.

But in both conversations in ME2 and ME3, its very clear she's asking for Shepard's help in saving her sister. It was her way of seducing Shepard into agreeing. She is a 'Femme Fatale,' and its things like those camera angles that communicate that.

Anyway, I'm just repeating myself from posts I made months ago in this topic.

I still decided to sweet talk Ash. It's different with Kaidan, but it's a good different.

I think the most annoying thing with the AI for me was the squad mates getting in my line of sight. Almost every, damn time. Even when I order them to get behind cover lol.

I’ve played through ME1 three times and always let Kaiden die, the poor bastard. Sorry buddy, but I’m just here to get Shephard’s virtual dick wet.

My first play through Kaiden died and I was pissed. I didn’t know he would die. Before ME3 I replayed the whole series and saved him. I hate Ashley. She’s a bitch. Unfortunately they made Kaiden gay in #3 and the cool bromance I thought we had turned into something else.

Ashley is a bitch, that’s why I always romance her. Hate fuck the hate away.

I'm a Miranda fanboi for life. I like Cora from Andromeda a lot too idk what people's general opinion is of her but I actually thought she was a cool character and I also liked most of the squad in Andromeda.

Liara makes the most sense to be Shepard's canon romance but in my canon playthroughs I go Miranda. I wonder how much that will affect ME4 if at all.

I blew the romance with Jack last time. Not gonna make the same mistake again. Ash is filling in for ME1 tho.

Got the Mako stuck on one of the uncharted planets. I got out of the vehicle and it disappeared so I was literally stranded. Had to reload from the auto-save. Only lost a few minutes though.

I flipped it over again, this time on Virmire. Luckily I flipped it back with the thrusters.

Got these two cool shots from another uncharted planet. You have to have 80+ Renegade in order to trigger the mission from Admiral Hackett, so all I could do was just drive around aimlessly as the Warlord compound was inaccessible

I forgot how good these games were. Kind of sad we haven’t had a proper successor to this series/style in years.

If you love Mass Effect and miss G4's X-Play show...

...you're welcome.

Holy shit I've never heard of this guy but his thoughts on the ending for ME3 are something I've been saying for a long ass time. "The last 10 minutes are not the ending!"

There’s also a glitch after you get out and it won’t have the prompt to get back in. Happened to me after I did everything on a planet, then had to reload a save and lost like 30 mins. So I started saving right before I exit the Mako.

Just finished ME2 and about to start 3. Looks like I’m the only one who went with the Blue Snatch romance through all 3 haha. Damn I missed this series. Would like to complete all 3 on insanity, but don’t look forward on playing 1 again since I ran on Hardcore the first time. ME1 looks great, Mako drives better, but as said the Character AI is doodoo.

Yeah, I've always considered it my favorite series of all time but I was still a bit surprised how fun it still is. The gameplay is fun, the atmosphere and character designs are well done and the dialogue and interactions with characters are all great. All around it's just really enjoyable to play.

I had that glitch happen too where I can't get inside the Mako. But I have a tendency to save after like every event so I didn't have to restart from too far away. The worst death I had was in Feros at the end killing all the creepers I made it to the end and died and had to redo like 15 minutes of fighting their annoying asses.

I'm having a great time playing through these again and reading most of the dialogue/watching all the cutscenes again. What an awesome series.

Finished 2. I love that game. I understand this would have taken way more effort, but it would have been fantastic if they'd revamped 2 to play more like 3. I like 3 and just got to the citadel, but it's a shame that the best playing game is the trilogy (by a pretty big margin) has the worst overall writing.

I thought the writing in 3 was great. Also got to learn about the Reapers creators in a DLC which I also thought was great. The gameplay is definitely the best in 3 and I always go soldier cause the gun play just feels amazing.
