So, about hope for the remasters
https://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effect...n-and-mark-darrah-have-resigned-from-bioware/
Mass Effect and Dragon Age heads Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah have resigned from BioWare
The departures leave BioWare without a general manager.
If they weren't an empty husk already, they certainly are now. It's such a shame because by Dragon Age Origins and ME 1/2, they were top of the RPG food chain for me.

Their path was looking bleak with the uglification of female charactes starting with DAI, and substandard storytelling (for their level) along with the overt SJW garbage infectng DAI and Andromeda. They were always a progessive bunch, but they jumped the shark with Andromeda. Yeah the B team headed that up, but the "A" team still gave the greenlight.

Look at the poll results.

There's a reason why ME2 is on many gamers lists for the best three games of the last decade.

For me, its...
1. Witcher 3
2. Mass Effect 2
3. The Last of Us.
Well I know why people love it, the writing, characters etc. Are you denying the early ME games [dunno about ME3] are not jank? I can see you love games with a great story but atleast 2 of those games play like molasses. This doesnt mean the game as a whole isnt fantastic and im sure it is.
I kind of know what you mean. Whenever I go back to playing it, it feels a bit weird. It's hard to say exactly what it is, but I think part of it is the movement and also the aiming. Both of which are important things lmao. I thought it played great back when it came out but it does feel clunky nowadays. I think ME3 plays a bit better but it also still feels kind of weird moving around. I think it has to do with the game being a cover-shooter so they focused on forward movement and rushing into cover instead of being out in the open shooting stuff while strafing and moving around.

Andromeda gets a lot of shit from the fans but it's the smoothest to play when it comes to combat.
I wasnt a fan, and tried it out since it was free on PS+. I didnt grab me and at the time, a game need to be really great off jump since I was more into action story games. Its been like a half a decade atleast since then, and I do love a good RPG so maybe itll click this time.

ME1 - Overly short, not enough variety on how to play it, and only replayable for the different decisions.

ME2 - I could write paragraphs of why I consider it to be the #2 game of the last decade.

ME3 - Even before the ending I was thinking 'This is very mediocre in comparison to ME2.' And then, of course then the ending happened.

So yeah, two of the three games are 'jank,' and I'm guessing that word means 'Not great.'

I'm mostly excited to play ME2 with all the DLC included and with upgraded graphics, so replaying ME1&3 are going to be bonuses.

I enjoyed ME3, but it felt just like a bunch of random battle scenarios cobbled together rather than a cohesive story like the previous two games. There were a lot of good ideas there, it just didn't flow like it could have.

That said, I do think the game really captured the sense of tension.....like the galaxy's races were all getting their asses kicked by the reapers, everyone is one the ropes and just struggling to survive and mount some sort of resistance.

It's funny how the two points I just made conflict with each other. On one hand, the story felt rushed and episodic, while on the other hand the overall sense of anxiety at facing an overwhelming foe was really well done. Just goes to show how this game was......almost.....great.

I loved ME3 the gunplay was so improved in that game that I went soldier for the first time. I thought it was great at setting different sort of tone from the other two games and I enjoyed the change.

I agree with you on the combat, it was the best of the series. My issues were with the story, and the broken/incomplete quests.

You can tell they rushed the game out. The trend continued with Andromeda.

There's a YouTube vid breaking down the development cycle for the ME series and BioWare games in general and why DAII, ME3, and Andromeda all seem to suffer and ME2 did a little bit as well but not nearly as much. It also addresses why ME1 is so different from the rest as it was a bit of a last minute project it seems.

He has a vid for every game separately and I think it's these videos that cover the issues in development. Or The Escapist I can't remember. But basically ME1 was like a last minute "let's make this" request from MS Studios to BioWare and then DA:O also had that issue hence the graphical weirdness for it's time. Then EA got BioWare and wanted them to pump out ME2 and DAII within a year of each other and the shit started to unravel.

I think the remasters will still be solid but this is incredibly worrying for the following Mass Effect games.

Unless EA sells them off I think BioWare is pretty much dead. Just have to pull the plug at this point.

Its been 'incredibly worrying' ever since Andromeda.

Not just for the bugs and glitches, but for the game content and developers with social agendas.

I’ve never played a ME game.

Bruh... It's like saying you've never played any of the Half-Life games.

Nice can't wait for this. One of the best gaming stories ever. If they improve the gameplay even more and tighten up the ending this might be one of the GOAT series.

It should also, be noted that they announced they are working on the next Mass Effect title too.

Proof:

Day 1 Game Pass for all, baby!!!!

Not interested unless they redo the ending. Gaming's Game of Thrones.

Please stop with the social agenda nonsense. Bioware has always been a progressive gaming studio. From early on it was inclusive of difference races and sexuality. You don't have to like it, but this isn't a case of the studio turning SJW. They always were.

Really crazy that this is happening to Bioware. Their two biggest series Dragon Age and Mass Effect are big hits critically and commercially. Sure, Andromeda was a bit of a flop when compared to the rest of the games, but it's a bit shocking that they couldn't make a comeback. I don't think they've completely lost their fanbase and I don't think they've really lost the ability to make good games. It sucks that they might just die out because DA and ME have a ton of potential to be even bigger and better.

Yeah, I know. Juhanni in KOTOR was supposed to be Revan's lesbian lover.

I never said anything about races and sexuality, and I have no problem with optional homosexual relationships.

What I do mind, is this shit.

@3:10 - 7:00

But that's to be expected, when Bioware employs these types of bigots.

The types of social agendas being shoved into SciFi franchises like Mass Effect, Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator, and Marvel films (In Progress) is what is ruining them.

Lol you're triggered over Jaal feeling uncomfortable around aliens? Did you forget Ashley's xenophobia in Mass Effect 1? Or how elves and mages are oppressed in Dragon Age? Like I said, Bioware has always been a progressive gaming studio.

Not triggered, just annoyed this type of shit has been invading my favorite SciFi franchises across movies and video games.

Did you forget Ashley's xenophobia in Mass Effect 1?

Nope, but most people forget the xenophobia of other alien races towards humans in the Mass Effect Trilogy.

Or how elves and mages are oppressed in Dragon Age?

Same with the Witcher series.

The difference is those games aren't promoting xenophobia like how all modern entries of SciFi franchises are promoting SJW agendas.

Like I said, Bioware has always been a progressive gaming studio.

Progressive, yes. But only with their modern era have they gone full-SJW.

There's a big difference.
