News Mark Hunt ordered to pay nearly 400k in UFC's legal costs lol

If I remember correctly there was an exception made for Lesnar not to go through the typical USADA testing so it's not like he didn't know what he was in for. He even called him a roid head before the fight so why is he so salty about that. I smell him fighting in PFL to cover the costs.

Thats actually a good joke . How could Hunt not realize Brock wanted to get pregnant and needed non FDA approved prescription for that. It was Brocks last chance the poor guy :D

you do know that fertility affects both woman and m… ah never mind

He claimed he could have been seriously injured no? Seems a good reason to pull out then sue them, would Brocks tests magically change if he pulled out?
Seems reasonable to think that. Fighters do die or suffer life-altering injuries. You seem to be arguing that agreeing to compete in a sport with a very real presence of threat should have no oversight or protection into further threat? Is this like the same slippery slope argument that fucking idiots make about how we shouldn't ban kicks to the knee cuz you already get punched in the face, ignoring the fact there are already rules against back of the head strikes, eye pokes, and groin strikes? There is a reasonable degree of expected protection. It's the very reason people aren't supposed to be allowed to juice.

I'm afraid for my life getting on a roller coaster, especially when it looks rickety. I'm not legally at fault if I decide to ride it and it malfunctions

Is your brain so riddled with "alpha" that you forgot what responsibility is in a society? Edit* 100% you're the type of guy who still thinks the coffee lawsuit was frivolous.

Mark has a few children so I hope for their sake this is resolved and they can get on with life. He would have made something around 250k I would think for the boxing fight with Paul Gallen last year so there are still some smaller paydays he can cash in.

Don't bite the hand that feeds you. And wasnt Hunt overpaid? I remember he was making hundreds of thousands per fight as a journeyman

Since it's a hunt thread

Was this you that was messaging him?

I didn't take out any lols, you can see people who quoted me lol. Oh no people crapping on me for not liking a fighter who shit talks his own fans

if you don't like a fighter.. do you wish for them to go bankrupt? do you cheer when they suffer from misfortune? you're the worst example of schadenfreude i've seen recently.. repent.

Because it's in his contract that if you sue the UFC and fail you pay their costs. Hunt isn't bright and his lawyers are apparently even dumber
Still not funny. He's a father. 400k is not chump change for him I'm pretty sure

You seem to have a problem with the timeline here. Maybe look up again when the fight was scheduled and when test results were published. The proof was only available after the fight.

Not over yet. Don't count him out. He has all the time in the world.
I do hope he puts a stop to at least the legal aspect now. At this point it will only damage his financial situation more. He can do a lot by talking / writing about it but Hunt really is quite damaged. I think he has serious brain damage, and I say that in respect. Look at his fights. Let alone his K1 fights hurt to watch in regards of what punishment he took. Imo its tough and near impossible for him to be a spokesperson in public. Dont think there are many fighters out there worldwide who have taken that much damage.

Yes but Brocks medication was for developing ovarian follicles through estrogen shortage. I kinda doubt Brock needs that to make a baby, :D And its not even approved in the US as fertility treatment.

I remember when Ken Shamrock lost a case with Zuffa and was stuck with legal fees. Dana didn't let up, so Ken had to do bodyguard work to pay it off. I'm not sure if he ever did. Anyway, this sucks for Mark. I understand his anger with the situation, but, at the same time, it was fairly obvious he wasn't going to win, barring some key piece of evidence that proved fraud or something like that. You can't just sue someone because "unfair." It was obvious that Zuffa pulled strings to get Lesnar into the ring for that fight. The problem with corruption, etc., is that it happens so much that it is hard to prove. I don't think any fan should be laughing at Mark, and OP is wrong for doing that, imo. I really enjoyed watching Mark fight, and I would never take enjoyment in his, or any other fighter's problems (with one or two exceptions). I guess we will see Mark fighting again soon to pay the costs.

Or maybe they thought they could win, but instead they lost.

Even if that wasn't the case, it isn't funny to laugh at stupid people.

I think he’s actually the opposite of what you want representing anything. He’s shown himself to be an abrasive moron.

How so? If he won the suit fans woulda called him a hero. Don't be so quick to side with the UFC and their bullshit. Shutting your mouth and staying silent never got anyone anywhere in the sports world. Your favorite fighter could very well one day be in Hunts exact predicament. Maybe they already have been and just never had the courage to speak up. He may be abrasive and potty mouthed at times but its pretty justified if you payed attention to the story. I don't think many would be polite and supporting of the org if it happened to them. It is warranted.

He probably didn't even make that in his whole UFC career..
He was one of the best paid UFC athletes. I believe he renegotiated his contract to fight Lesnar and made more than three quarters of a million for that fight and every subsequent fight (all five or six thereafter).

So he probably made about $5M disclosed pay since UFC 200.
