News Mark Hunt ordered to pay nearly 400k in UFC's legal costs lol

It was stupid on his part. Trying to sue a company that operates in one of the most corrupt cities.

Since Mark lives in New Zealand could they really force him to pay this?

Because it's in his contract that if you sue the UFC and fail you pay their costs. Hunt isn't bright and his lawyers are apparently even dumber

It appears to be a clause which applies both ways. If Hunt won the UFC would need to pay his legal costs.

It so ridiculous how fast legal fees add up. It makes it impossible for everyday people to ever take action in court.

He never had a point. It was a frivolous suit. So he gets to pay for it.
Not really. The point of the suit is the UFC knew Brock was on PEDs and would fail so they pushed him thru the cracks in the system. The contract Hunt signed I am sure says his opponent is supposed to fight clean and the UFC isn't supposed to knowingly put a roided up fighter against him.

Just because Hunt didn't hit the legal threshold for this doesn't mean it isn't true.

It's more in Sports in general...these types of "fans" think they own these athletes. Athletes in various sports are just objects to them.

Agreed, but it's worse in singular sports as opposed to team sports - some fans still think this is a game but people are putting their real, true livelihoods on the line. It's anything but.

I want to know how many times the UFC knew a fighter was hot and they got away with it. Imagine if all the people who lost money on bets knew about it. To me, this is close to fight rigging.

On one hand it's pretty funny he has to pay them this much money after all these years of bitching.

On the other hand he felt like he was wronged badly by the UFC and was willing to kill his career and lose hundreds of thousands of dollars + potential millions fighting to bring justice/fairness to this sport. I don't think a single fighter has done the same

Well the UFC isn't the one who conducts the tests, so it would take more than just them knowing someone's hot. It's the ACs and USADA. What the UFC would have to do is bribe one or both of these organizations to keep their mouths shut. But yea, this is felony corruption level stuff that if discovered, would result in the FBI raiding Dana and seizing his devices and whatnot.

I appreciate the sense of humor

I know having the Blue Name comes with some sorta target with some posters, but you've been handling all of it with class.

10/10
For the record I target a lot of people for hypocrisy. I do it all the time, even when you made a thread about the UFC dying ;)

And also, I don't hate substance abuse and he can do what he wants. but no one should take it personal if I point out something if I disagree with someone. I still respect them as a human being and don't insult anyone on here.....usually....

UFC knew Lesnar was on roids when they let him fight.

Hunt knew as well. Still agreed to the fight and said he would win despite the steroid use. He didn't complain until he got held in place and beat up for 15 minutes.

He's completely right to be furious that he has spent so much of his career fighting cheaters, it just became so annoying hearing him whine about it years afterwards

You did nothing wrong at all. I've been wrong countless times and telling me that you don't agree is perfectly fine. I feel strongly about many things too. That said, TS is a known troll with a lust for Lesnar. This thread was him being petty and shitting on Hunt who was trying to stand up for what was right even if it was misguided due to Lesnar and nothing else.

I did get a legit laugh out of the shift manager line, lol.
