To find the majority of voters in that election, you’d look at the total number of votes cast across all candidates, and find the number which is over 50%. Trump did not have that.

I wasn’t “selling” anything. A poster told me the majority of Americans voted for Trump, and I pointed that was obviously not true, and in fact not even the majority of voters did in that election—which is also true.

He had a very good showing, finally won the popular vote, took all 7 battleground states… it just happens to be a fact that he didn’t quite get a majority of the total votes cast. Nobody’s getting stomped to irrelevancy, Just 4 years ago the Republicans lost in much the same way, and 4 years later they’re back again. They even ran the same shit candidate who had left the White House in 2020 with lowest approval rating on record ever, now with new felony convictions and felony charges and won. In 2008 and 2012, Obama won with higher electoral vote and popular vote margins than Trump in either election he won, and yet he won.

The only reason is that as President he's immune from prosecution. There's enough details out there of the coup plot to know it's real, if there's evidence to attach it directly to Trump I don't think it's been made public, but it would be hard to imagine so many in his orbit making these moves without an okay from him. I agree with you, and maybe I'm misreading you a bit, but even though his plot failed and he has political enemies it doesn't mean his prosecutions were politically motivated. If anything was politically motivated it was Judge Cannon's handling of the Documents case.

I had pages and pages of pointless debate about this with a certain mod. I think there's always SOME level of political motivation. These aren't robots, they're human beings. That doesn't mean it shouldn't have been investigated though. It's not all or nothing, one or the other. Someone can have a preconceived bias AND still have an interest in finding the truth.
