I don't think you could be any more wrong.

I think 135, 155, 145, are the best and most talented divisions easily.

He just needs to be smart with his next match up though. He's hurting his brand with back to back losses. He definitely loss some oh his appeal with the casual fan base last night. He needs an impressive win asap to regain hype and drawing power.

the career declines of diaz/woodley/maia/dos anjos/lawler/macdonald etc have ruined the welterweight division’s p4p standing. most of the guys at the top of that division have built their résumés on guys who either don’t fight anymore or haven’t won in years
 
Colby is fine for me. He has cardio and he can beat a drug test. All this Usman beat LWs stuff is silly. Masvidal can't make LW post USADA without an IV. Gilbert Burns moved to WW because he felt better. He started off as WW before coming to the UFC. He didn't move off LW because a losing streak. He was losing/cutting around 18 percent of his body weight to make the 155 limit and he missed weight before. He complained performance was suffering because he couldn't do much mma training because he spent most of his energy/time doing cardio to lose weight.

I agree with this. Izzy has weaknesses but no one in his weight class can exploit them. they need size to do it. all the best fighters at MW happen to play into Izzy's strengths. At this rate his next 2 title defenses look like cannonier and strickland. I see him beating both with Ease.

Usman has been stellar as of late. A breath of fresh air to have a champion to defends often and is active. However he has only face 3 opponents in the last 3 years. Usman is the definitive number 1 welterweight, Colby is number 2. but Usman's resume isn't strong enough to be P4P number 1. and this is not "in light" of Colby's victory over Masvidal. this is just a general statement that Usman's record is really not THAT strong and neither is Colby's. I can't say that Usman's record is the strongest in the sport currently. I wouldn't call him p4p no.1.

I know P4P is some fantasy shit, but being no.1 generally means something. it means this is the best fighter in the sport overall currently. I really don't think it's Usman nor should it be Colby if Colby had been the one to beat Usman twice.

was thinking about this today, if Usman is the definitive no 1 p4p champ then mathematically at least Colby could be number 2.

In reality thats still a possibility as the gap between them isn't too large.

Actually every opponent Colby has fought since 2017 has been a top ranked fighter. Funny how everyone Colby beat isn't "real" once he beats them.
It hasn't even been 24 hours since he beat Jorge and you are already trying to discredit the win, claiming Masvidal isn't a top ten fighter. Yikes.
 
Colby is the Gustafsson of the WW division. The new Jon fitch. Consensus #2.
Both max Holloway and Robert Whittaker are in the same position in featherweight and MW

Izzy's only weakness is hes the Goat. If he wasn't and actually doubted his own abilities or wasn't quite as good, like say Jon Jones (barely beating people at LHW) or Anderson (being juiced beating average fighters) then he would not have gone up in weight (like Anderson never did) or take ages to do it and put on the actual size (like JJ, what has it been 2 years now hes been bulking)?

No Izzy has reached a level those 2 never will, absolutely cleaning out his divisions so dominantly that when he goes up he believes he can win the belt undersized at a 185 weight. Hence doesn't put on the weight. Hence slightly undersized and can be taken down.

If he was less confident and not the Goat, ie a Jone or a Silva, he'd bother to put on the weight.

Its a strange irony. If he sucked likes Jones has been, he only goes up when hes put on the weight, and doesn't get dominated on the ground.
 
I think Colby is good and Usman isn't #1 p4p.

Would probably give that title to Yan

Masvidal is fringe top 10 these days. I don’t seem him beating anyone in the current top 10.

To a lesser extent perhaps even sandhagen, who has now lost to the champ(sterling), Interim champ (yan) and no 1 contender (TJ)

there is little space for any of those guys to advance again in that division
 
Colby would beat everyone at 170 except Usman. He’s elite AF and Usman is P4P #1. Deal with it.
 
Izzy or Usman or Yan are the pound for pound best.

Colby is the 2nd best WW.

Like I said to you before I’m ready for a shake up and new rankings in the WW division. It’s time for a change. I’m ready for new fights and the new blood to take over the division


The closed loop of Masvidal Usman and Colby needs to end. I’m even ready for a new champion even though I like Usman and think he’s a great fighter.
