Gane and Tom almost finish 1st round before the eyepoke and now it's "we would have to see the whole fight before we can make a real opinion".

I dunno Gane stuffed the takedown, won the striking exchanges, and did the most damage. The same amount of time Aspinall spent most his fights for. I think it's fair game to judge off what we saw, there is no precedent that he improves as rounds go on. Most had Tom's best round being the 1st.

Have you seen Tom Aspinal in that position before? Have you seen him fight 25 minutes??

I do agree on one thing tho, the "fouler" never gets any blame, or punishment from the ref, its all on the other guy, and well, he saw the door and a way to save his title and took it.

Had the position been reversed, Aspinall being the challenger, Gane fading and getting pieced up, bleeding nose, damn well Aspinall continues to fight, 100%.

None of us know how the 2nd round would go or how the rematch will go, particularly now that Tom has a feel for Ganes striking and presumably changes up his gameplan.

Tom was keeping distance and faster than Gane realized AND when Tom blitzes, you tag him on the Jaw as he is going forward and he shakes it off, Gane might of realized the fight is going to the ground and got nervous.
