I went to go make myself a martini only to find that I'm out of gin.

Now I have to make a vodka martini like some kind of dirty hobo.

Is there any way to make the vodka taste a little more like gin?

When it's frozen vodka with a few GOOD (not canned) olives in the glass, I don't miss the gin taste. I find that gin flavor is mostly alcohol flavor anyway, that is, not much different from vodka.

It's funny, I use a similar strategy when I drink Scotch.

First dram is the expensive stuff. Usually the second too, but after that I switch to the cheap stuff because by that time I'm drunk enough to not notice the difference.

It makes my expensive bottles last longer

Don't get a real martini confused with all the girly variants, like the appletini.

A real martini is just 4-5 shots of hard liquor poured in a single glass. A drop of vermouth doesn't make it any weaker.

It's a very masculine drink. lightweights can't handle them.

Listen bro. I count pours by the seconds I'm guzzling from the bottle. I gotta have at least 20 shots before I feel a buzz. I slam a 6er of Bucsh light in 25 seconds as a pregame to a handle of bacardi 151. Sometimes I do a handstand and just jam the bottle up my ass. You can call me an alcoholic, but you cannot say I am not efficient.

turns out they don't even make bacardi 151 anymore. did some research and apparently they went out of business when I bought all the inventory. I don't even know what im talking about, carry on

Martinis are awesome.

I started drinking them because I love olives. Then I just kinda acquired the taste for them. With gin of course.

Why martinis are the best drink:

1. It's almost exclusively hard liquor, but more of it. It's like drinking whiskey out of a coffee cup filled to the brim.
2. Olives are awesome
3. They have the best glass. It tells the world that you're a sophisticated alcoholic.
4. You can truthfully tell the officer you only had 2 drinks. Even though you're shit faced

No. I love Scotch (a little too much) but martinis are my second favorite, so I go back and forth between the two.
