Media Mackenzie Dern talks about having to pay financial support to her ex

Wow... How can so many people be so wrong about so many things? Threads like this bring out the worms huh?

Also one of the justifications is to facilitate split custody.

Let's say one parent has a lavish lifestyle and the other doesn't -- the kid might want to live with the rich parent, only because of the money. I think part of the reason behind spousal support payments with children involved is for this exact reason.
Yeah I don't object to child support. I just think that's a whole different animal from alimony. Permanent alimony is wrong and fucked up.

More of this is necessary to balance out the power dynamics and biased systems which have destroyed men for generations
Its funny how I see my friends lives get upended and destroyed by a bad divorce that they didnt even initiate and nobody gives a shit but all of a sudden a Boise 3 makes good money and has to pay the simps come out.

The whole "needs to maintain the same lifestyle" horseshit needs to be rooted and stemmed from the system. You got divorced, why should your lifestyle have to stay the same? Makes 0 sense. Alimony needs to be capped at minimum wage or median wage or something.

For sure permanent alimony is definitely wrong and fucked up.

I think if one parent is a stay at home parent when divorce happens, there should be a 5 year cap on alimony. 5 years is enough to re-train and get a job.

who gives a fuck women are still ahead by billions of dollars when it comes to undeserved financial support, let the men get a few dollars.

I mean I get that a man getting money from a woman might not be a good look

But it's necessary for the pendulum to swing back the other way. It's bigger than just him.

Men have been fucked by the system for so long, so when it happens the other way round, it feels like justice.

I think it's fucked up when either sex does it.

Rather than be happy that it's happening to a woman, I'd rather be pissed off that the rules haven't changed yet for both genders.

I’ve gotta say I’ve seen this a lot more recently with the whole “Girlboss” movement of the last 10 years.

And not gonna lie, the schaudenfruede is real.

Women hate equality.

It warms the ice-cold cockles of my heart to see real men supporting men and realizing what the truth is, as opposed to what we're ordered to believe it is <GinJuice>

Seriously, seeing your posts made my day better.

I'm 52 and the rules haven't been the same for both genders since I was born. I do agree with you that it would be nice and if I ruled the world I'd mandate it. But if the rules actually were the same, women would screech about being oppressed by "the patriarchy" way more than they already do. When you're so used to getting preferential treatment, equality will feel like persecution.

I'm just thankful none of the women in my life have been brainwashed by feminism somehow.

EDIT: And the biggest irony of all about this is that women do NOT respect male feminist simps at ALL. Those are the guys they treat worse than anybody, even if they marry them.

I make a relatively large amount of money (not obscene but quite a bit). My wife actually makes more as she's a VP in a huge company and her stock options are pretty sick.

It's not really how love and marriage always works out but the fact that neither of us "need" the other financially takes all that stress out of the picture. We share $ but there's transparency. Yes, life is easier in a lot of ways when you have 2 high earners but for the sake of this discussion it's more the familial parity that matters. My guess is (and again, I realize this isn't always viable) there's less financial stress in households where the 2 earners make a similar amount. And in cases where they split up, it should take most of the alimony discussion off the table. (Child support is another thing).

Dern should check herself here though. The world has changed and women can make more than men. Great. And if they do and there's a divorce...prepare to face the same shit men do if they're the breadwinner. Not complicated.

He should use that money to better himself
