MacDonald dominated Condit??

Watched the fight and I just don't see it. Yeah he got takedowns and controlled the octagon in the 1st and 2nd rounds but what else did he do? He really didn't advance position or land much GNP. Condit controlled the position and landed some good strikes from his back.
So why is it around Sherdog that everyone says he was laying a beatdown on Condit?

Rory's gnp and top game is vastly overhyped. Don't get me wrong, he's an upper tier fighter, but after the Mills fight, people were proclaiming his gnp as the best in the UFC.

He had 10 pro fights before he fought Condit. Clearly an impressive showing, but lets not pretend like he was in diapers.

Rory didn't dominate ... he was just handily winning till he gassed in the 3rd.

I re-watched the fight recently. I wouldn't say he dominated the first two rounds but I am comfortable saying that he won them. It was a good performance by a young fighter that has improved since then.

not dominated. but i think most ppl will say he soundly won rounds 1 and 2, but he got clobbered in the the third. And there was more damage done by condit in that round than mcdonald was able to dish out to condit in the two rounds... but i think ppl are just pissed because a)it was near the end of the round (and that should really mean nothing) and b) because he should/would have won the fight if it wasnt and c)it was a pretty prematur stoppage. so ppl just embellish the fight and say macdonald dominated cause theyre pissed

Can't say I've heard many people call it a domination. Many thought he would have won a decision, but that's about it (minus the obligatory fringe Sherdogger who can't resits going to extremes, but we can generally ignore them).

Condit was working rory standing and on the ground. take downs was the only thing rory had going for him.


Joe rogan is the reason every one thinks rory was doing better than he was.
