M-1 champions will be able to fight both in UFC and M-1: End of an era of exclusive contracts?

So fedor wasnt enough for a an m1 ufc deal but ..... is?

M1 is the worst of the 3 russian organisations. clearly ACB is the best, and then is FNG. Why would UFC sign such a contact with them?

Because both ACB and FNG are under huge financial struggle nowadays , their future is in jeopardy and, unlike M-1, they're not backed up by Russian government

didnt know they are backed by the government...so socialist....

But if the fighter has had success in the UFC, you really think they're going to let him go lose to some bum in the bush leagues?
The article paints the "partnership" much more as a feeder league and not as a 50:50 type situation. There's no mention of UFC fighters going to fight in M-1, only the other way. Sure there's mention of an M-1 fighter going to the UFC and then, if they're still an M-1 Champ, being allowed to fight on M-1 events, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

The gist of the article is:
"the UFC and M-1 Global have formed an unexpected partnership that will see the Russian promotion become a farming system for the UFC and assist them in hosting events across the Russian Federation. This newfound partnership between M-1 Global and the UFC will see the Russian promotion’s champions get opportunities to hone their craft in the UFC." They are NOT on even terms and there won't be UFC Champs fighting on M-1 cards. The UFC is the big leagues and M-1 is their side piece, there when wanted otherwise they can f@ck off.

I think that if M-1 champ competes in the UFC, when he's back to M-1, he won't fight "bum", but another Russian prospect. Problem solved.
Either way, UFC have successful Russian guy in the roster.

Plus don't worry, M-1 will take care of the fight outcomes from their side.

You can even put a tinfoil papaha and suggest, that ACB's and FNG's financial struggles came as a RESULT of their recent success....

So, are we getting the M1 Medieval at UFC events??

Will we finally know which is the greatest sword fighting style? Ex Olympic fencer vs. Kendo champion. Wushu vs. LARP guy.

maybe thats why M1 is still there. is the worst of the tree, and since they receive state support, they dont struggle to be competitive....would be better UFC would just buy them

very surprised of the bad reenactment they are doing there....there are so many similar competitions in europe near the castles, citadels, castle vs castle etc..... they do it in the M1 ring. such a lack of taste

Both true points, another one is tribal nepotism....the heads of M-1 and WME have much in common.

I would honestly like to see ACB and M-1 merge at this point. They are both great in different ways. ACB has the best talent, but M-1 has good management. Together their roster and reach would be next level.

ACB never had a shot, they wasted money flying in "A list" refs like Big John and Herb Dean when it was completely meaningless, and doing shows around the world in empty arenas when they should have been concentrating on a core market while trying to get TV deals overseas instead. Look up my posts on Worldwide MMA section and I've gone into much detail on this in the past, even before the troubles started, predicting it.
They don't even air ACB on Arab televison but they air Bellator which does shows in Israel. BeIN Sports (owned by Qatar) broadcasts in North America, Western Europe and Southeast Asia, and it would have been tremendous exposure if they aired ACB. But Arab monarch states only worship the West, they don't give a flying fuck about anyone else. Hence, why UAE pours millions into BJJ and ADCC, and Saudi Arabia's paying to get WWE and UK boxing events on their soil, meanwhile some of the best grapplers, wrestlers and boxers in the world are in the Caucasus and Central-Asia.

I love that knight fighting is a thing

They should go Rocky 4 / Best of the Best style and host an all out UFC vs M1 event.

UFC's champs vs M1's.

USA vs Russia.
...khabib is one of the ufc's champs.

Also, RW is australian.

M1 is the only one of them I've even heard of and watched events for, how big are the other two in comparison? What's their talent pool like etc

Lol what? ACB is (or was) easily the #2 or #3 org in the world as far as talent and roster is concerned. They routinely put Bellator to shame and made good case for whether it was #2. M-1 is barely Top #5 or #6 and has to contend with ONE for that spot. PFL might be better than M-1 too.

Their talent pool is arguably much better than M-1's atm....
