so because aldo wasn't on the last wec fight card it his fault for being handed a belt.

it just worked out timing wise that cruz fought on last wec event to make him the first ufc champ. pettis would been handed a title shlot but he didn't want to wait for it

My argument is that Brock was a legit fighter not just some celebrity that was gifted a title shot. I also would take Brock over Big Tim, over Randy, over Bas, and over Mir who he beat at UFC 100.

He was a legit fighter, AND a celebrity. AND definitely was gifted a title shot.

My response was to Senzo, not to you, but if you simply can't follow along, this was the statement that started down that road.

That was the start of the money era in the UFC and it has only gotten worse. He didn't earn his title shot. He got it because he was a celebrity.

That in turn rubbed me the wrong way because it makes Lesnar seem like he isn't a legit mixed martial artist when in fact he is. Maybe he got his title shot fast but he is a real fighter and he proved he was. You think about this bud. Lesnar stepped into the UFC with only 1 professional fight and went straight to the deep end of the pool. He told Dana he could either fight or he couldn't.

But trying to promote a FW tournament to decide the FW champ, when one guy has already run thru the division and is already considered the champ and the clear cut best fighter at that weight, is just flat out stupid

So strip Aldo of a belt he earned fighting and make him fight thru the same exact group of guys just to earn a different belt

Therefore they set up the Tournament, where the end game was supposed to be Brock vs Nog or Nog vs Randy. Mir and Brock won their respective matches.

Who else was Brock to fight before the title shot? Sylvia? Yes he was the fastest to a title shot, but he WAS NOT COMING OFF A LOSS.
