Looks like PBF is going Ghostbusting on May 4th

In boxing history?? Noooo. Guererro's a legitimate threat. Contender for upset of the year? Sure. But there is definitely a case to be made for Guererro having a pretty decent chance at beating Floyd.

After Guerrero t'd off on Berto following the final bell of their fight, I rather like the idea of watching his systematic destruction against the bigger, stronger, and technically-superior P4P best.

Not even close...

Ghost Guerrero, who fought on even terms with Berto and Aydin, who lost to Orlando Salido beating Floyd Mayweather, P4P best fighter on the planet would be a huge upset.

Salido was juiced, and beat Berto with a relentless barrage of ugly inside fighting. I don't see Floyd doing the same. Guererro has improved, and has carried his power, chin, and speed to 147 well. Floyd has lost a step and won't be dancing around this guy like he was back in the days of the Baldomir fight. He's gonna have to work for this one.

With that said, if Joe Cortez is the ref, Guererro is fucked (As would be any other fight fighting Floyd with Cortez as ref)

Serious? Ghost was eating uppercuts all night against Berto, all he was really doing was mauling him and not doing anything particularly special. Floyd is just as good at in fighting as he is as boxing on the outside.

I see no way Guerrero could possibly win. I don't mind the fight because I think it will be entertaining, but I'm disappointed because Canelo was the much more interesting fight.

Eeh, looks like I'm in the minority on this one. I still think Guererro's style poses a lot of problems for Money. He has to fight a different fight with Berto because Berto is super dangerous from the outside with that right hand. Yeah, he was landing uppercuts on Ghost, but Ghost was taking them like a champ while outlanding Berto 3 to 1 on the inside. The guy is a machine, and I'm telling you this should be a very competetive fight if Guererro uses the right game plan.

No shit Sherlock.

Guerrero can use whatever game plan he wants, he doesn't have the skill or physical abilities to trouble Floyd. He beat limited gatekeeper Andre Berto ffs.

Salido would've spanked that ass on any night.

Second, anybody trying to make it seem like Guerrero had dominant performances against Berto and Aydin are delusional. Those were both competitive fights.

However, I agree that Floyd is losing some of his mobility. Or maybe he's just choosing not to fight with a lot of footwork.

The PBF who fought JMM, Mosley, Victor Ortiz, will wreck the Ghost.

The PBF who fought Cotto will have problems.

I just don't see it at all.

Cotto is a good pressure fighter and throws good combinations. The argument about Mayweather not moving on his feet makes no sense to me. Guerrero is not a great inside fighter, he mauled Berto and STILL got beat up on the inside, he eat uppercut after uppercut all night, yet he is meant to give Floyd problems?

I predict PBF will win a UD...he is after all one of the greatest fighters in the last 100 years.

That being said...what truly impressed me about Guerrero is that he was able to walk through anything and everything Berto threw at him...and the Ghost gave more than he received...

Will Guerrero walk into counters, upper cuts, straights, jabs and hooks from PBF? Absolutely.

Will Guerrero land some shots and put PBF in some scary situations? Yes.

GUerrero is for real...and it's not going to be as easy as most assume. That's all I"m saying.

Fight might look like the Ortiz fight, though Guerrero isn't a mental midget.
Guerrero's Achilles' heel is uppercuts, target practice for PBF.

Guererro is a much more complete fighter than Ortiz, and more mature as well. This kid can box. He's not going to shoot forward like Ortiz winging knockout punches at every angle. I've always contended that a skilled southpaw will be the one to beat Floyd. Guererro might be that guy. And I don't believe he will just try to maul Floyd in the inside all night. Mayweather will not stay there. Berto didn't know how to get out of there. Big difference.

Bleh, free win for Floyd as far as I'm concerned. Not a compelling or competitive matchup stylewise.

Floyd will eat Guerrero up wherever the fight goes. Guerrero should come to fight and give his best effort but I don't see how he wins this either by trying to stay outside and boxing with Floyd or doing what he did against Berto on the inside. I think he's outclassed in every aspect.

Exactly, neither his inside or outside fighting skills are good enough to even trouble Floyd. His outside game is basic, no angles, no great variation or speed. Floyd will beat him to the punch and counter his jab quite easily. He'll be getting walked down by the 4th round.

On the inside, he mauls and brawls but against a skilled inside fighter that won't get you far. He will take a lot of uppercut and hooks.

Yeah agreed. I sound like a broken record when I say this, but Floyd's inside game is highly overlooked most of the time. You're right he has infinite more skill on the inside compared to a guy like Berto who looked way out of his element there.

Ghost was smart to rough Berto up at close quarters and did a good job of bullying him around, but that shit won't fly against Floyd who's showed that he can deal with that type of a fight. He'll get hit more if he ends up fighting on the inside, but he'll also do some serious damage to Robert if that's the way the fight plays out. And on the outside at distance it'll be very difficult for Guerrero to get much going imo.

It'll be interesting to see where the fight takes place distance wise and how it plays itself out, but I don't doubt Floyd will take a pretty dominating win here. No disrespect to Robert just my opinion.

Oh I agree that PBF is a great inside fighter as well...

I"m just saying that the Ghost will have his moments and put PBF in a few precarious situations.
