Lombard is scary

not okami. Lombard has a much better judo pedigree than okami and a lower centre of gravity as well as being more heavily muscled. Okami loses that fight imo. Weidman is somewhat an unproven entity at this point. I would like to see him put on the slow boil as he clearly has the potential to be great. Whether or not he would wreck lombard is anyone's guess. I don't think it is as clear cut as you think. Judo players have great balance and as a consequence great tdd so weidman might struggle to get the take down and lombard is scary standing.

I agree, a fight with belcher would be great, because belcher against anyone is usually a good fight.

I think lombard is about to tear through the middleweight division tbh but my hunches have been very wrong in the past (i was convinced bj was going to destroy r mac)

Guys like JDS are terrifying but outside of a fight, he seems like a great guy.

From watching interviews, Lombard seems like one of those easily agitated people who you have to be careful the way you act around.

He's definitely a tough guy, but IMO these guys would put a beating on him:

-Anderson
-Weidman
-Bisping
-Belfort

I say give him the winner of Okami/Belcher, and if he wins that fight a title eliminator.

Belcher deserves a top 5 mw for his next fight should he beat Okami imo.

The jury is still too far out for a fast track to the title.

Solid win over Paul Harris, no doubt, but other than that there's the Boetsch hiccup.

If he can beat another 2 top guys and Boetsch, then I wouldn't mind him getting a title shot.

Of course, the landscape will have changed by then and other guys would have done big things also.

What if Weidman smashes Tim?

They won't fight ....................................until they face each other for the MW title near the end of 2013 . Tim will barbarize Weidman to retain the belt .

hes another one of those guys taht should be in the nfl nba but is going to mma now that the $ is there.. if you think of the MMA land scape right now its still pretty much the "golden ages" of mma... so if you think in terms of the NBA you'd have to think back to the 70s... when it was a buncha white guys who could barely jump... then you see oscar robertson and Doctor J, and to me they resemble Jon Jones, anderson silva.. and possibly lombard... i think 10-20 years later mma will be full of kobe bryants and lebron james type athletes.

How did you get that out of what I said? The spider is too legit, he would win handily IMO. Id rather see him fight weidman as he had great wrestling and better sub defence than chael

Not really sure who's available to give him. He won't be getting a title shot, Munoz is probably going to be taking a big step down in competition after getting beat down, Bisping and Vitor are fighting each other and Weidman is injured.

I guess they could give him the winner of Boestch/Philippou or Weidman after he heals up but he'd gain just as much with a win over Lombard as those guys.

I haven't followed his career that much. The only thing I'm not sure about is his chin. An iron chin is mandatory if you hope to get anywhere near Anderson.

Ya definitely the weidman fight if bisping doesn't get past vitor (because we all know that if he does the UFC will put the fight with Anderson together in a heartbeat) I would like to see weidman Lombard for a shot at the title.

Remember when a handful of people wanted to see Edwin Valero fight Pacman mostly because Valero had sick power that was enough to stir conversations about how a not so highly ranked contender can always be a threat to the guy on top. That's the kind of aura Lombard has right now. That's why i wouldn't mind if for some twisted reason the UFC signs up Melvin Manhoef to fight Anderson. We should all just end the talking and get entertained by exciting fighters making exciting fights.

Fast track him to a title because of his age? I completely disagree. I can't believe I'm going to say this but, Bisping is next in line if he can beat Vitor and giving him a fight with the loser of that fight isn't going to happen either because they almost never pit a loser against a winner. He has to earn a title shot but hell maybe you're right, I mean this is the UFC where title shots are gifted because money makes it so.

Lombard has really proven very little in his 2 fights in the UFC, we need more from him before a title shot..

He has really short arms and he is short. Being Silva is the best counter striker this would be another good match up for Silva. So I see Silva taking this fight.

he does have that bully mentality which does make him quite a scary dude. I like the way how in most of his fights he stalks consistently. But is that the style to beat anderson? Most likely not but at least lombard wont stand there and let sliva get into his rhythm.
