Cope with what?Cope harder
Cope with what?Cope harder
Oh, forgot about this gem. Teo was making excuses even after the win. Talk about a mental midget. It's no wonder he lost his very next fight and had a full-blown mental breakdown.Cope with what?
Not really. Rematch clauses aren't always put into contracts. They don't even trigger if the fight is ruled a Draw or No Contest. Secondly, Teo & Loma had the same promoter. A rematch could've easily been arranged in-house without a mandatory clause in the contract. If Team Lopez felt that Loma's legitimate injury was an "excuse" then run it back and shut him up. After all it was Loma that gave him the opportunity to unify in the first place. Not that it matters much because Teo lost his next fight to Kambosos and then moved up.If about not giving rematch, Loma should blame his team not Lopez or Bob.
Lopez didn't had refused to sign fight contract with rematch clause.
Team Loma feeded fight contract variant without clauses and Bob os Bob, he ...

Dear GOD! I can’t withstand this rapid fire flow of damning information!!!! I am fucking STUNNED that a fighter would defend their performance, case closed! Attention everyone: The result is officially overturned. I’ll notify the WBO and IBF to update their records.Oh, forgot about this gem. Teo was making excuses even after the win. Teofimo Lopez: I Was Injured Too, I Didn't Use Excuse Like Loma Did
In other words everything that you've accused Loma of doing Teo has also done. He discredited his win before he even got it by calling Loma "too small" and "on the way out" prior to fighting him.Dear GOD! I can’t withstand this rapid fire flow of damning information!!!! I never accused Loma of anything except having fans who can’t accept the result of a fight. In other words everything that you've accused Loma of doing Teo has also done. He discredited his win before he even got it by calling Loma "too small" and "on the way out" prior to fighting him.
The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner. It showed just how fragile Teo's ego is. In his next fight he lost and had a fucking meltdown. Sad excuses galore. Shocker.I never accused Loma of anything except having fans who can’t accept the result of a fight.
Teo can say what he wants, he won, he backed his “prior” words up with actions in the ring, and he made his post fight comments because as the winner he got the right to speak and take a victory lap, and the sore losers (Loma marks) didn’t like that, but oh well, deal with it.
I think at certain weights you have to talk about him as an all time great in terms of potential ability and hypothetical matchups vs other champions, but not in terms of achievements. He made more money going up in weights than he would've otherwise though so it was the right call.one could argue it wouldve been better for his career if he stayed at a lower weight class, but he seemed like he wanted to challenge himself and try for greatness. FWIW, he still does hold the record for becoming a 3 division champ in the fastest time.
is he an all time great? in amateur boxing, absolutely. probably one of the best ever. in professional boxing? im not sure.
Loma has received almost exclusively high praise in this thread but a couple of minor criticisms come his way and a few of you get extremely upset about it.Loma really can’t win, can he?
- If he fights a bigger guy and loses, weight has nothing to do with it.
- If he fights a bigger guy and wins, it’s proof that weight doesn’t matter.
- If he fights injured and performs badly, he’s a loser who makes excuses.
- If he fights injured and performs well, he’s a liar who was never injured.
Loma haters really are braindead.
Loma may not have won every fight, but he definitely won a VERY loyal fanbase outside the weird way recently their faith in him beating Tank was suddenly gone. I liked Loma in that one.Loma has received almost exclusively high praise in this thread but a couple of minor criticisms come his way and a few of you get extremely upset about it.
This has been going on for years, too. When certain posters on this forum can't even acknowledge a legitimate injury that seemed to have hampered his performance in the Teo fight, it says it all really.Loma really can’t win, can he?

Yes, you should have.Cartoons? I should've known.
it aint Loma's fault that Tank ducked him for years. and now that Loma is retiring Tank fans think he ducked Tank; yeah nah. that fight couldve been made for years - Tank's handlers just didnt want him being embarrassed by Loma.Loma may not have won every fight, but he definitely won a VERY loyal fanbase outside the weird way recently their faith in him beating Tank was suddenly gone. Not gonna lie, I kinda feel like the Boxing forum seemed to empty out some after the Lopez loss, I know a lot of hyperbole about Loma spilled over into straight up personal issues and accusations of bias because “how could you even attempt to question this history being made before your eyes?!?!?!” Kind of responses but it might also been the COVID bs too
Only casual fans that are new to boxing think that Loma ducked Tank. The reason is because they finally came knocking when Loma was past prime and Tank is still very much in his prime (regardless of how the Roach fight went, which I thought he lost).it aint Loma's fault that Tank ducked him for years. and now that Loma is retiring Tank fans think he ducked Tank; yeah nah. that fight couldve been made for years - Tank's handlers just didnt want him being embarrassed by Loma.
i agree with you - I got Loma all day in that fight. even now when he's retired i think he would be too much for Tank with his angles and movement. a shame it will never happen.
