List of surprisingly physically strong fighters

Not raw power, but I heard that Big Nog has some really amazing grip strength.

That reminds me.

I've heard that Tim Boetsch is very strong, as if i didn't need the gif to tell me that.
Dat dere Viking strength.

first to pop in mind are
Jones (many figthers said it)

Absolute failure of a thread.

It's literally just 'list strong fighters'

TS has to bear responsibility for this for listing guys like rampage and rumble. Who the fuck is surprised to learn that they're strong?

Hahahaha I agree

I'd go with Zabit, Anderson, Maia, Edgar, Khabib, Hendricks, Fedor, Gustafsson, Stipe, DC, Cain

Crocop was super jacked and failed the very first and only random PEDS test he ever took. He had a cartoonishly bad career spiral in the states, almost immediately after winning the Grand Prix. He's back to looking super jacked and winning fights overseas.

How is it confusing or surprising that a guy on PEDS with huge muscles is physically strong?
You’re full of shit, my friend. Cro Cop never failed a test, random or not. He injured his shoulder, took the minimal amount of HGH his doctor prescribed for the injury and then told USADA all about it. He passed the test but USADA still fucked him. ”Is normal.”

<CroCop1>

Do you think it’s even remotely possible that he’s back to winning fights because his opponents are worse than the ones he fought in the UFC?

Haters gonna hate, I guess.

HGH is not detectable... something stinks here. If USADA found something it can be high/low testosterone lvls, or Serms, Sarms.

Lower center of gravity, bigger legs.....he also had a better technique......not saying he is not strong but against Sapp, who looked like he was just trying to use his upper body .......<Lmaoo>

sure, but lots of things come down to technique, even strength based things like weight lifting. Cormier has even said he's not very strong in weight lifting and a lot of his big slams are leverage based. that still doesn't mean it isn't impressive, Bob Sapp is a science experiment of muscle, he also beat Overeem and others earlier using that same technique. he beat Overeem easily.

Maia isn’t actually super strong or even particularly strong for his size/weight, he just has insane technique (which means the forces he will be exerting from grappling will be immense but it’s not due to muscle mass or explosiveness but skill).

The dude is explosive strong, but that is slick technique right there.

Yeah ankle picks are a speed technique, you aren’t out muscling your opponent with them but being too fast. Hence why Tony mentioned using it as a threat to a considerably larger man.

Very few fighters in OPs list are "surprisingly" strong. Seriously, you're surprised that Rumble is strong? or a high level greco guy like Hendo? come on....

Joe Rogan can pick up an Onnit 25 pound kettlebell and won some local TKD tournaments in the early 90s.

Relatively speaking, obviously Rumble is strong but i heard that he was exceptionally strong and i think he's stronger than a lot of heavyweights, you could say that everyone in the top heavy weightclasses are strong, and Hendo is stronger than he looks by many accounts. What were you expecting, to say that Mighty Mouse is as strong as Tito Ortiz or something?

He was randomly tested without notice, and then confessed immediately pursuant to that test, not before. Confessing with an explanation because he knew he was glowing was his personal decision, presumably for PR.

Admitting to cheating is failing a PEDS test. This is common sense at face value and doesn't require further explanation.

Of course that factors in, but he was getting absolutely torched by lower level guys in the UFC as well. Roy Nelson has a losing UFC record, he's upside down. Brendan Schaub has a very fine lowlight reel of getting knocked out repeatedly.

Both of these guys beat Crocop to sleep with little trouble.

If you believe the guy who was found to be injecting HGH in the first and only random PEDS test he ever took was competing clean, well I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you, great deal.

i'm interested in where you heard about Rumble's grip strength. not that i think you're lying, just that i'm genuinely interested in what they talk about his grip strength.

i've heard grip strength is a good indicator on how strong a person is physically.

Not raw power, but I heard that Big Nog has some really amazing grip strength.

i remember Coleman saying Nogueira controlled his right hand unbelievably well with his wrist control, Coleman seemed surprised as if no one had ever controlled his right hand like that before.
