Life Experience Scale

It's funny I have heard the claustrophobia before. When I was diving in Bermuda, I understood a bit. I was 30 feet down and could see all around me....The vast ocean filled with fish. Yet the only thing keeping me alive was this tube in my mouth. Got a hint of the claustrophobia but then it went away, and I experienced a peace like no other. I was PART of the ecosystem for a short time and it was incredible. Maybe snorkeling is more your speed.
Couldn't even manage that, 7 Mile Beach Grand Cayman I was in shallow enough water with the pretty fish I could see swimming around my legs, had goggles, went underwater and the first instinct was to shut my eyes so I gave up. It's just water claustrophobia, I've been to enough concerts where you're crammed in like sardines and I haven't had a problem.

I am very jelly though, that sounds flippin life changing. I would love to be able to see what you did. Husband's colleague's wife we were in GC with took in some sea water, had a panic attack before getting to the surface and wouldn't dive again but another colleague found a bike at the bottom and there's a pic of him riding around on it so apples and oranges.

I was more thinking:

You’re a parent
You’ve lost a close family member
You’ve lead people professionally
You’ve recovered from a layoff

Etc

Those are real life experiences versus running a 5k or a single skydive.
basically they all ask 'have you ever been depressed'

Man the fuck up

Of all the ones you're missing, I'd recommend hiking up a mountain the most. I tried the serious mountain climbing with ropes and all that but I didn't enjoy it. But taking a beautiful scenic trail up a mountain is awesome.

Being from NC, I've always wanted to go up the Appalachian Mountains. I was a coastal kid, so I never got out that way. Maybe I can take a trip to Boone or Asheville soon and do that.

Done the entire list aside from skydiving. Almost did a few times but much like my 4 times bungee jumping all my friends that claimed they’d go backed out last minute. It got kind of boring doing all of that solo.

I've done 8 of those things lol

Lots of vacation spots have ATV tours and Scuba cert classes. I always try to go to places that offer something fun. I drink enough I need some distractions lol....
Yeah if you're going to any spot that's not American owned or first world you can do a short course for scuba that's only about 3 to 4 hours. Definitely worth the experience

The issue with sky diving is the first bunch of jumps are tandem. You have some dude tied to your back. Like brokeback mountain.
