The left does this kind of self-flagellation after every election where there's power left on the table. There's plenty of examples from 2016 as well.

Maher does have a good point though that left is starting to behave like the worst authoritarian regimes of the past, silencing people, disappearing people (not literally). For all their talk of Democracy it seems to be just a means to an end. They don't care much for freedoms because they don't trust people to make their own decisions and live their own lives.

here is a progressive response to bill maher. i think its really good but it denies the premise that social justice is what is making dems lose and places it rather on corruption and shit policy proposals.

every single medicare for all democrat won the election down ballot including in swing districts but blue dogs lost a lot. maybe its that dems are almost as bad as republicans while claiming to be better.
