There's been an absolute craze of salted caramel in the UK these last few years. Salted caramel chocolate, salted caramel ice cream, salted caramel milkshake, salted caramel spread, salted caramel crisps etc. etc. I like caramel but don't like salted caramel at all, I wouldn't take a salted caramel product for free.

I loved this stuff as a kid.

As an adult? I get nostalgic and I really like it, but it gets passed over.

When you were a kid it was probably 250g, it's down, via 230 and 200, to 180g now.

(They remove the weight from the front of the packet.) - 200g

Yeah, Cadbury has big international name recognition (Dairy Milk was sought after a lot at the duty free where I used to work by travellers), but they're not what they used to be.

I don't think that the recipe is the same. I remember there being a bit of a hoo-ha about a change in the past.

I used to eat Fruit and Nut a lot as a kid, and biting into that solid bar and hitting a full nut was lovely. I never got that as an adult though. They changed the size and the shape and it wasn't the same.

I did buy a big(ish) block today though, for old times sake.

Bought a few bars of Ghiradelli dark chocolate and forgot in the car, the car got hot, chocolate melted, put in the frig and seemed like some parts did not re-solidify, but eventually did and ended up solid again but almost like powder formed into weird flat shape.

I always liked Dilettante chocolates, but every time I go to their website, almost everything is sold out and I haven’t been able to get them in-store anymore. Their candied fruit and chocolate covered coffee beans are good.

I used to buy Lindt, but then saw articles about how many big name brands of dark choco had levels of lead and cadmium that exceeded the California safe level and Ghiradelli was one recognized brand that had less lead and cadmium. The other relatively safe brands were ones I never saw in stores, even though Walmart was cited as having carried it.

When I was a young kid I can remember going to the Chocolate factory in San Fransisco and enjoying that greatly.

Now I'm more of a fan of white chocolate that is dairy free. I think the company Real Good makes some delicious white and dark chocolate.

I prefer white chocolate, but it's the dark chocolate that I keep seeing articles citing the health benefits.

I don't remember if it was lead but another "bad" chocolate article cited Hershey's Cookies and Cream having some bad shit.

I used to like Symphony. Haven't bought that in many years.
