Economy Let's talk gas prices

"indoor plumbing? I guess you hate the middle class! Shitting in a hole in my yard is just fine for me, thanks."

There’s not enough power

and where do these people think power comes from?

There is no bus where I live, retard. lol at Bubble Boy here talking about privilege.
It's funny

Some of the left " making someone get a ID card is racist against the poor colored folks"

Also the left " stop driving old gas guzzling cars and buy a 20k electric car if you don't we will tax the hell out of you and raise gasoline prices" ...

Yeah, we will ill all start transitioning to electric vehicles.

I have to ask, because I am in the Energy Industry, mostly Nuclear, but also some Fossil. With what energy? California has closed San Onofre for no good reason, if you ever want to talk about the leaky pipes at the plant and the easy fix, I can, I was part of the project that proceeded that event. We are closing Diablo Canyon in 2024. That means over $1 Billion in Fossil fuels purchased out of state every year along with 8,000 high paying jobs gone. Wind and Solar cannot cover it and are not base load energy supplies. I am trying to figure out where this magic energy comes from when we are maxed out already to plug in electric cars (which I am a fan of, but we need to be smart).

Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) are the right answer along with more Natural Gas (Burns real clean and cheap), but we are not advancing on either fast enough.

Gas prices are the canary in the coal mine that you are about to be fucked. If they break the $6 threshold, we are fucked. It completely devastates the poor and rural Americans and all of our trucking and transportation industry. This is all so unnecessary.

There will be some bumps transitioning for sure, but it's something we have to do.

Those are not bumps. Those are huge economic disasters. Those are thousands of deaths in the Mid-West when a harsh cold freeze comes. We were down to our last coal plant (back up) during the heavy winter in 2013 from millions of Americans going without electricity in a 2 week long ice freeze. California is already having Brown and Black outs with no solution as we up our electric consumption with more electric cars.

There is absolutely no reason to devastate our economy and endanger our populace with such idiocy. We can easily keep the Natural Gas flowing, cheaply, while we develop SMRs for a transition. Just cutting them down, like Democrats and Biden are pushing is pure idiocy.

Its gonna be fine, chill man.

Russia believes oil is abiotic and have found it were there was previously none. America could be shooting itself in the foot while China and Russia keep drilling because they believe oil will never runout.

WTF? Chill? Thousands in danger during a deep freeze. Oh hey dude... chill.

We were one nuclear plant outage away from thousands dying during a big Midwest Freeze. The U.S.A. had every back up coal burning plant online to meet the need. We had zero idle. Since then, we have closed more and reduced our total base load energy capability. We were at 100% max. If one plant had gone into unforced outage, people would have died. It's not going to be fine with the current Green Policy. I go to all sorts of conferences with the top energy experts and their assessments are scary and they are in agreement. You can't find one that isn't incredibly concerned.

We need to embrace Natural Gas for now and invest in SMRs that or incredibly scalable, but they have no meltdown potential, they burn the current nuclear waste as fuel, and they can be placed virtually anywhere we need them eliminating power lines through forests.

thank your current administration for making you pay more for gas the next 3 1/2 years.

Milk went from the 2.79-3.00 I always remember it as, to I’m now paying 5.00 a gallon.

inflation. We were gonna start to reap the whirlwind of our elite class printing so much money it starts to impact our regular lives

Gas is gonna get to 7 bucks a gallon in California within two years. Calling it now
