Just because something is available doesn't mean it meets all demands or is a viable option. Tell struggling farmer Joe that he has to replace his 20 year old 1 ton 4x4 beater truck with a new EV he can't fix or keep running without proprietary software at a dealer miles away. Or the small business owner who has a small fleet of affordable Chevy vans. Or the struggling uni student running from class to work in a $1000 old Civic. They're already replacing mining fleets.
I'm not saying everyone can buy one today.
If they can meet even 50% of peoples needs (probably near 75% already) then it's awesome.
They are already replacing heavy diesel equipment in underground mining operations.
But they work for inner city yuppies and large conglomerates! Give me a break. You say you have Native family, right? Go to the nearest rez and preach to them the benefits of going electric. Lol.
We're a long, long ways away from making the switch. And once we do, the main polluters - military and the transportation industry will still be burning dino juice for decades to come.
