Lets talk fishing

In this awesome video , the aussies use drones as fish finder

I have some friends who are against this but really it’s no different than using a fish finder

So pissed. Was going to take the kayak out for the first time yesterday and the weather turned nasty-raining and cold in the 30s. It gets up to 54 today so maybe I give it a try today but cold front bites are not generally good

I typically do use a leader when using braid, usually flouro because I use hi vis braid, plus the flouro is so much more abrasion resistance than braid. But I usually only use 3’ or so for a leader, not enough to offer much stretch.

Same. I mostly use a 12 ft fluro leader with braid. I tie them together with a reinforced Alberto Knot.

I use Segaur Abrasix Fluro on my drop shot, crawler rigs & Segaur Invisix for any swim bait, spinners, cranks etc

For Alligator Gar: i use 60lb braid & a 60lb Mono leader. Then i attach a barrel swivil to the mono so i can attach 3ft steel leaders to that.

It will be in the 70s tomorrow. Plan to take the yak out for the first time this year. Wish me luck.

Got my kayak out today. Had to drag it up a giant, steep ass hill. Caught three. Nothing big, but my goal to not get skunked and use some new baits was accomplished. I caught the first one on a zman chatter bait in morning dawn(what Lee Livesay used in the bass master classic-but I have had it since February). Got my second one on a chartreuse swim jig and the third on a black/blue jig. I chose chatterbaits and swim jigs to be my chosen lures of the year, so it was a successful first day with those two lures.

I also tried the hover rig and the ozark rig. Both looked great great in the water, but I didn’t catch anything on them. The hover rig has a great sinking motion where it glides forward. The ozark rig is kind of like a Texas rig with the weight already attached. Very interested in trying these out more in other lakes that are more soft plastic friendly

That picture, btw, does not do that hill any justice. I posted this in my fb fishing group with 2500 people and I was called crazy for dragging a kayak up those steps. I must not be in too bad of shape because I only stopped to rest twice. Normally, it’s three times and my legs are still burning

Just got a big order from 6th sense fishing. I recently learned that they have a new whopper plopper style lure that I had to get. 6th sense is a high quality lure maker, so it was a no brainer. While I was at it, I got some jigs and some soft plastics to go with them. It’s not quite top water season here, but will be in the next 3-4 weeks.

Yeah I've heard that it's a bit controversial, there's an Aussie Youtuber (Nev's Fishing) that uses it sometimes, I don't see the problem personally.

Oops. Just accidentally placed an$100 order with tackle warehouse. I got a bunch more hover and ozark rigs, some weighted wacky hooks, an evo mini chatterbait, and a $20 Deps frog. Will post pics when I get all of it

Temps are supposed to be in the low 40s, but I'm taking a 5 hr drive early Friday morning to go fishing with my buddy in Northern Montana on the Missouri River. Hopefully the Walleye and Trout are biting. Make catch a few Spring Pike hunting in the shallows.

Pike is on my bucketlist. How do you catch them out there?

Good luck. I may go Saturday afternoon depending on weather. I got out twice last weekend. Scored some bass but nothing over two pounds

MajorCraft Zoner Hunter has a similar action to pre-Rapala wiggle warts, + run true. ZHC55
