A couple of slabs of white crappie and 2 catfish. One 10 lbs one 23 lbs. Been a good couple of days of fishing.

Hard to tell by the pic, what kind of lure did you use to get them crappie?

Also l, what do you use for cats? When I go cattin I just drag a clump of the biggest nightcrawlers I can get on a ewg offset shank hook with a pencil lead about 12” up the line. Seems to work pretty good and doesn’t get hung up often.

buy a cheap plastic John boat instead to fish out of.

I used to have an 11’er that had an alumnum frame and plastic shell to fish in some really shallow hard to get to places I wanted to explore.

They fish 1000x better.

I had a trolling motor on mine but it could handle up to a 5hp motor of so desires.

I’ll try and find some picks of it. I posted some here ages and ages ago.

think they are on my photobucket. Need to figure out hot to get into it again.

I like to paddle, plus I put my kayak on the roof of my jeep and that would be impossible with a John boat and I am not buying a trailer. The lakes I fish mostly are not accessible by boat, though what I consider my home lake is, but it has booms across half of it that a boat could not get through

Nice crappie. The bass weren’t hitting one day and I had some small jigs and caught about 15 but they were all small

I’ll tell you, for the life of me I cannot figure out crappie. And it’s the weirdest thing because they hit just about everything but I can’t seem to get them consistently.

I forgot to add earlier I will use cut bait for cats as well, Shiners, Chubs, whatever.

Jon Boat that is. This post has me thinking. Never considered the plastic ones. Prices are seriously reasonable. And they look really easy to customize.

Next month I am ordering a twin troller x10. Its the perfect in between from from a pedal kayak and a jon boat imo.

It has 2 trolling motors incased in cages under the boat the push 75 lbs of thrust. It can also take a 5hp motor. Fits 2 people 2 captains chairs and has crazy good stability.

Actually closed my account for awhile there, including all other Social Media (minus Youtube but always keep the comments off) ... I just hated myself for wasting so much time on the internet. Id pop in and lurk here and there, but if someone calls for me by name, especially a fellow fishing sherbro, FUCKING HELL i better respond! haha

As far as Fishing, holy shit i've had a busy busy year! Lots of good trips on my Bass Boat and lots of side quest going after other species too including a beautiful Brown Trout up in the Sierras during the Spring ...



YES, I am purposely long arming this shot for forced perspective, they are still nice Bass, but for parody purposes I had to do it!

12+ pound channel cat I got just fishing cut bait on a Lake Day with the kids. Wasn't really trying to do much, but when its on its on.


3+ lb Brown Trout I caught up in the Mid Sierras just flipping a rainbow trout colored Rooster tail in the the slow moving parts of a cold river just into Spring....When i cut open his belly, he had a rainbow trout in there. I see why he bit the damn rooster tail the way he did!


Not my biggest Bass of all time (PB = personal best), but my biggest one of 2021. She came in at 5lbs and 15oz and would probably be a lot bigger had she not starved herself all during spawn. I caught her about a week after spawning (#nobedfish) Here is the video from Cast to Catch to Weigh to Release if you'd like to see:

I do have a Youtube Channel that features of TON of Fishing and various Musical Projects I put together (as well as footage from my time during the Iraq War). The Music stuff is mostly featuring my Bass Guitar work, so I kind of have a theme of: Bass Guitar & Bass Fishing (and other species) www.youtube.com/jangomike

Old age has caught up to me, I don’t think I can still put Teh 275 up but maybe.

On another note, I can’t rember of last we talked I had won Angler of the year in my Local. tourney Circuit or not? You might have quit before that. Was season before last.

Currently in 4th place in points this season, and next tourney is on my Home lake so I “should “ win that one and jump up some points.

I need to start loading Tournament Content to my channel.

I’ve recorded some but when it gets hectic I forget to get the go pro out most times.

Finally got the boat in this past weekend. Didn’t do much fishing. Just got the thing cleaned up and ready. Last year i wanted to work on different techniques but I was slaying bass on dead sticking a stick bait. Let’s see what happens this year.
