Lets talk fishing

Have you ever been to Long Pond or Sunapee Lake? Apparently they have Arctic Graylings and what a beautiful fish!

those are gorgeous. Never fished west of Ohio. WV, OH, PA, NY, NC, FL and Nicaragua is about the extent of my fishing range

Screenshot_20200831-091330_Gallery.jpg Anyone got a recommendation for a drop net? Snapped my line 3 times trying to pull bigger sharks up onto the pier last night. The ones they sell there are super bulky, so I'm looking for other options before spending 40 bucks on something that will be a pain in the ass to fit in my sedan.

I did manage to pull this one up, about 7 or 8 pounds, 2-2.5' long. Almost got a 3-4 footer but the line broke right when I got it to the railing.

Just spent 5 days in Big Bear. Didn't catch much just a few small catfish.

Only fished two days though.

Tragedy struck today. The patch on my kayak failed and my boat filled with water dumping me in ten feet of water before I could get to shore. Lost four rods. Recovered the kayak but it is likely not fixable. The rods and reels were a $600 loss as was the kayak

The local news showed overhead drone video of a Waikiki beach of this dark intangible blob underwater moving slowly and said it was a huge collection of fish.

Hello sherbros. Recently I have decided to take up fishing. Mostly bass. But have no issue going fo others.

Yesterday was my 1st attempt at using a drop shot rig. Interesting set up.

So far I have tried lipped crankbaits, spinners, chatter baits, soft plastics, senkos, creature baits, and so on.

I am trying to learn lure fishing. So knowing I am a complete newbie to fishing other than gojng out as a kid with my dad.

What do you guys advise for muddy water? what do you use for clear water? And what techniques do you suggest for the lures you reccomend?

Found a new lake. First trip there was a mess. It is an enormous hill to clim to get to the lake. As I was fishing, I stepped into soft mud and sank to my waist. Not a whole lot of area was reachable on foot. Caught one fish for my trouble.

The next time, I dragged a borrowed kayak up the hill. It took me over twenty minutes to get up that hill. Caught four bass and missed over twenty on a frog. Nothing spectacular. The next post will detail my third visit, which was massively successful

Caught my new pb tonight on a white strike king buzzbait. 5.59 pounds. Unfortunately, she was bleeding badly all over me. We tried for fifteen minutes to revive her. A little later, she would surface and then dove down and we couldn’t find her when we went back. So I hope she survived. 1EFDF53B-3AC0-4761-B62F-33970563193B.jpegD86091F9-F00E-4875-BBCE-2680A87223C6.jpeg0F95C71E-F502-4B07-8EA1-B4C52D40A706.jpeg

I got my first baitcaster type reel. Headed to the lake tomorrow to try it out. Also found my ice fishing pole that I thought i lost . Was pretty stoked about that.

I live by the Thames and Wey and I’m definitely interested in getting into fishing. By which I mean I want to slump down by the river, asleep, with the radio playing cricket next to me. The blokes doing that always look extremely happy.
They are probably catfishing with a bell on there line. Take a nap if something bites the bell will wake you. Its nice for a lazy day for sure.

Also makes for fun nights. This is what follows that bell sound (sometimes)

This was not my first baitcaster reel, but my other one is so hard to cast. This one is an Abu Garcia roxani combo and it pretty damn slick. It took me about ten minutes to get passable with it

I just got back from the lake (Lake Mead, Nevada). I didnt catch anything but I found the reel (Abu Garcia Silver Max) pretty easy to use. I did dozens of casts with zero issues as a first time "baitcaster reel" user.

I used braided line for the first time too. No issues so far.
