Lets talk fishing

Caught three on the day. The biggest was my first bass while standing on the kayak. As I was bringing in the smallest, a bigger bass crushed it and got me tangled in a tree. Wished I caught that one instead of the little one.

Hit the lake today on the kayak. Caught two, lost three. DE1A6766-6806-4EC1-A845-FF91EA58F690.jpeg

Saw some absolute tanks-6+ lbs. they wouldn’t even look at our lures but was glad to know there were fish that big in there. Caught threeA13DBFE4-1161-4629-B5AD-9CCD8F650738.jpeg

Haven’t fished this year but I am refurbing the boat, little by little. Needs some wiring addressed and the carbs cleaned.

Got out a little on the fly rod. Streams are still running fast and high. Didn't catch shit, but it was fun just getting in the water

Just got back from North Carolina. Fished the Wilmington area. Caught a few. Lost 9 on frogs the last day. Not missed fish, but hooked fish that were lost either at the bank or while reeling in. New fisherman focus too much on equipment. Especially bass fisherman because there's such a huge market/industry advertising stuff.

My suggestion for new fisherman is to pick a single lure/strategy and use it all day long. Don't fall into the trap of constantly changing out gear because you're not catching anything.

Hit up a creek for smallies on Wednesday and caught two, missed four. The bigger fish was two pounds. F28EACA4-CCC3-4BA6-A004-5F3C086A0254.jpeg8C174228-5633-44DC-99B4-755C281DF738.jpeg

Hell yeah. That’s my thing. I have a ton of random or ironic T-shirts that I wear. On one of the fishing apps I use, I have had many comments on my posts “eh, bass is ok, shirt is epic.”
Please tell me you have one that says "Women want me, Fish fear me"

Got up at 5 this morning to hit the creek for smallies. Got seven. The biggest was 2.2 lbs 16 inches. The beat catch of the year based upon insane acrobatics and fight.

Caught them on whopper plopper 75 in loon, bbz one rat 40 in grey, and a ned rigged zman craw.
