Let's talk about Stipes head movement against Ngannou

This is true and something that really impressed me when I watched the fight. Stipe was very much on point that night, especially his head movement.

To survive by the most pussiest means and call yourself the "baddest man on the planet", and you applaud this. Go jump off of anything. Pussy.
Guys a goof, just ignore his ahorrent ignorance, this isn't a drunken bar fight fool.
Doesn't prove your tough to stand and get hit.

Very easy to look like you have "great" head movement when you're scared shitless. Its the ones who move forward and arent hesitant that display it, that makes me think they are great at it. Stipe in the opening minute was fucking petrified. Call it however you want. He didnt want to be hit. And btw Andersons head movement lead to counters that fucked people up, Stipe simply ran outta there(early on).

I see the haters are still in denial probably crying themselves to sleep over Stipe destroying Ngannou, i mean you can try and spin it anyway you want inside your delusional little brain it won't change the result of the fight.

Destroying and dry humping are two different things.

Strip it then. If anyone thought Stipe came in there terminator style like he was just going to beat the shit out of Francis then, I guess Im wrong. Stipe looked scared.

For like one minute. Ngannou looked scared for the next 24. That's what a good gameplan and some serious talent and athleticism get ya.

p.s. Most HW's are scared all of the time when they're in a UFC fight. At least the good ones.

its easy to move your head when the opponent telegraphs monster single punches with no threat of a combo.

Funny because I didn't see k1 grand prix champ overeem slip those punches....

Dude, I got you. He was being ultra defensive. Ngannou hits way too hard get caught with. Once he slowed down it was easy for him to do his thing.

Lol no. If you want to watch beautiful head movement then watch Aldo. That right there is just nice reflexes. Dude is crossing his feet, hands low, and often throwing from the waist. I like Stipe, but if you want to admire boxing fundamentals he is the wrong guy.

Great thread.

Just a slight correction:

beautfiul slip to straight jab

^ slip to right cross

Even if he was afraid ..that makes it even more impressive becuase doing anything when your "petrified "is 10x harder but i dont think he was scared i think this was the gameplan it had to be anything else and the result would have been overeem all over again early on..it was smart and highly effective two things you should always strive for as a fighter..smart and effective techniques

lol, Anderson's head movement led to him getting cracked hard from elite strikers like....Ryo Chonan and Tony Frkylund. And Stefan Bonnar. He had a ridiculous chin which meant he walked through punches though. He may have baited people in, but he got nailed plenty. Aldo, until recently, had very good, subtle head movement that allowed him to get inside. He even looked good doing that against Holloway, but that was too much to overcome.

great to see how far stipe's head movement has come. he used to seem a bit static to me, but he has obviously been really working on it before the ngannou fight. i though his lack of head movement might let him down, but i was way off with that one. props to stipe for clowning ngannou with superior boxing and wrestling.
