Let's talk about Stipes head movement against Ngannou

I love, love, love how unhappy you are that Ngannou lost. Your angry outburst is to me like relaxing in a warm bubble bath while sipping expensive wine, so thank you!
Makes me happy that I can do that irl and you have to dream about it.

Good point, I also noticed that. His head movement looked better than I've ever seen it, same with the takedowns. He definitely rose to the occasion and did what he needed to do to win.

No it isn't. Plenty of UFC fighters fight scared and still have fucking awful head movement. Stipe simply showed very good head movement.

I mean yeah, on the one hand I agree someone like Duran has the ultimate head movement, to be able to move forwards fast and still slip and counter is amazing, but the amount of fighters who do that well is tiny, even in boxing history. Probably count them on one hand.

And Andersons's head movement was scripted and overrated, it only looked awesome against scrubs like Griffin. Stipe showed legit head movement.
Anderson's head movement was scripted? Ban.

Very easy to look like you have "great" head movement when you're scared shitless. Its the ones who move forward and arent hesitant that display it, that makes me think they are great at it. Stipe in the opening minute was fucking petrified. Call it however you want. He didnt want to be hit. And btw Andersons head movement lead to counters that fucked people up, Stipe simply ran outta there(early on).

So P.Whitaker, Toney, Floyd, Tyson, Smokin Joe, Patterson, Duran etc all have great head movement because they're scared ? This post is so fucking dumb I feel like I've dropped ten IQ points from reading it.

With every fight Stipe brings a little something new...Next fight I would hope it's sea-level Cain-like cardio.

You never had those 10 IQ points. I said if you're afraid of someone you are completely defensive and can move defensively easy. TS compared it to AS, but AS moved and countered Stipe ran. Fuck out of my face with your comparisons.

It also showed that he can follow a game plan. (He did this against hunt too but most of his recent run has been simply engaging and landing first)

He fought the perfect fight against Ngannou. He avoided the early shots, got him tired and took over.

He also listened to his coaches during the fight, which is what I particularly liked.

Odd.. Sherdog intelligentsia have often informed me that "head movement doesn't work in MMA" ..."because kicks, knees and level changes"

I like em both, preferred to see a KO. From either side.
But Stipe was scared shitless and almost running at times. Wide eyed and on move. Can't blame him, got the win and kept his head.
Vs ngannou look of horror, mouth agape, zombie walking to stool

“I’d like to move my head but I may accidentally move it into a knee so I’ll just eat this punch”

Okay, this is the one. The holy grail of stupid things said on Sherdog.

It is VERY easy... Great head movement... when youre scared shitless.... god this is beautiful!

Yes. Silva randomly moved his head, Stipe anticipates or sees the shots and moves his head.

But I can't say I'm surprised you don't see it, you're clearly an idiot of the highest order who has no idea what he's watching.

Stipe did great avoiding the second big punch in that one.

After NGannou misses a big right over the head of Stipe, you can see Stipe looking up before lifting his head up again and when he saw the left coming he lowered his head back down. Great reflexes.

Sorry farmer fred Stipe fan. Most American viewers could understand the African and not the American. He was fucked up and won by wrestlefuck as well as not being able to finish a man who was gassed after 2 minutes. Stipe says himself that he felt Ngannou was gassed after 2 minutes. Yet he fought like a bitch. Sorry your hero is a bitch.
Stipe beat his ass standing while he still fresh though. 50 - 44 lmao.

"He didn't want to be hit" who the fuck want to be hit by Ngannou. What is Stipe suppose to do stay in the pocket and brawl with him just to prove to you that his not scared ? Early first round Stipe was testing the water see the speed and the timing of Ngannou, Stipe never fought or trained with Ngannou how does he know the speed and timing of Ngannou ? is he suppose to take a risk and move forward hoping he wouldn't get hit ?

Ngannou is a one trick pony his have good natural reflex and power thats it, he throws big looping shots hoping it would land, Stipes straight right counter him all night and Ngannou also don't seem to know how to deal with leg kicks either. Oh he also can't wrestle and have shit gas tank.

so youre calling stipe miocic, the current baddest man on the planet and greatest heavyweight mma fighter of all time, a bitch?

Their are forms of defensive fighting which you seem to fail to understand but whatever helps you sleep at night.

One thing we've learnt about Stipe that night, that all all-time-great fighters do, is that he adapted.

He's never shown that level of head movement in his game before, he was never that type of double leg and run it guy, but he needed to be against Ngannou and pulled of the win.

#UFCHWGOAT.

actually, he showed an even better example of this skill as far back as the roy nelson fight. that still really is, in my opinion, his best full performance in the ufc. he was dancing around, moving his head, cutting angles and countering roy in the same sequence, all from in the pocket. made roy look completely silly.

ive been trying to tell people about stipe for a long, long time!
