The Holocaust vs. the Transatlantic slave trade? I'm not sure which is worse. I've never compared the two, and I don't know how you would weight the variables involved. Years of enslavement with co-efficient X, extermination of future generations with co-efficient Y, loss of culture and language and surname as co-efficient Z, etc.

I'm not really interested in trying to come up with an equation, but you can present and defend one if you like.

Do you think 9/11 was as bad as the holocaust? If not, do you think an equation is required to prove that?

I didn't really express an opinion on what was worse, just suggested a few aspects of the Holocaust you might be underestimating. You made a positive claim - that one is substantially worse than the other. So you would bear the burden of proof if I wanted to press the matter...

Well, the loss of cultural heritage was complete and absolute in the case of black descendants of slaves as it was systematically destroyed, whereas jews today generally still have a connection to their history, native religion, culture and norms, etc. if they choose to. Why would you be surprised I brought that up? You're already assuming I'm arguing one side or another of your comparison.

Anyway, yeah, the Jews that survived still had ties to their roots. Or at least memories of them. In places in Europe with zero Jewish population after the war, the Jewish cemeteries were largely desecrated and the headstones turned into sidewalks etc.

Karma is a real beach in the US' case. If not for slavery and indigenous genocide theyre fairly solid domestically. I think black people think theyre the only ones who have ever been physically enslaved when its still happening today and has been a staple throughout history. Okay, so Israel isn't reparations? They also got regular reparations too.

It makes no sense to give reparations this way.
Hundreds of years have passed, and giving someone money because they are black makes no sense. I think Rather we should think about helping poor communities with a better school system, safer neighborhoods and give them more opportunities and if anyone deserves reparations it’s the native Americans.

Well, like I said, if you wanted to do a thorough analysis you would have to weigh the factors I listed (among several others) and then assign them a variable, which might or not be right and which might just come down to personal preference.

Anyway, I take it you're pro reparations? I'd rather hear you present your case and support it than hear you argue as to whether the slave trade was worse than the Holocaust.
