It seems like all of us at this point would like to see equality for all people - we may disagree on the methods to obtain it and when the scale starts turning the other direction

im hearing tons of calls for reparations from the media including from robert johnson from BET asking for 14 trillion in a recent interview

how do you feel about this? I know reparations were already paid in the form of "40 acres and mule"

I've always been in favor of reparations. The Jews got an entire country, massive subsidies for all their organizations, as well as individual monetary reparations, and much more--and the Holocaust wasn't even that bad compared to the North Atlantic Slave Trade.

The Holocaust was pretty bad bro. The Nazis didn't even think the Jews were worth keeping as slaves, hence the organized and mechanized mass extermination and gas chambers. They actually compromised their own efforts to supply their own military and win the war just to make sure trains of Jews kept going to the gas chambers.

that's a pretty insane statement to make - and lets be real

if your looking for reperations for the trans atlantic slave trade you should probably take it up with the captures and sellers who began well before america

I'm just going by the numbers. Six million vs. unknown tens of millions, ten years of genocide and oppression vs. hundreds of years of genocide and chattel slavery, etc.

Go back the blink of an eye of history in geological terms and we were shrew-like mammals scurrying around the forest floor and treating each other the way one would expect shrews to treat each other.

On the way to becoming humans with many nations in the world that have constitutions and supreme courts that uphold human rights, humans of all shades and, indeed, every stage of mammal that we were on our way up from shrew to human treated each other and ourselves terribly.

Well, the thing with extermination is that even if you do it over four years, it lasts forever. There are still many parts of eastern Europe where the Jewish population remains literally zero, 75 years after WW2.

Anyway, go ahead an make your case. Malcolm X and Farrakhan made some of it for you already.

am i wrong? are those two things equal in scale or is there a difference?

Money should not be given directly to black people. I don't have any answers but I know that isnt it. The problems are deeper than having some extra spending money.
do you think the Jewish victims of the holocaust should have gotten money?

The Holocaust vs. the Transatlantic slave trade? I'm not sure which is worse. I've never compared the two, and I don't know how you would weight the variables involved. Years of enslavement with co-efficient X, extermination of future generations with co-efficient Y, loss of culture and language and surname as co-efficient Z, etc.

I'm not really interested in trying to come up with an equation, but you can present and defend one if you like.

Taking money from people based on skin color as punishment for things they never did. And giving other people with another skin color free money based on abuses they have never experienced. That sounds like a good way to increase racial division. But that is the goal.

Reparations to who? They deserve it based on what?

Payed by who?

No, it's just stupid that they're even talking about this. There is no money that can make up for what was done, history is full of suffering, time to stop looking behind us and move on.
