Media Leon says he will NOT sign contract vs. Colby Covington

Leon may have no choice, fearing title stripped from breach of contract .

In the post fight press conference he says Colby doesn't deserve it and if Masvidal wins he want to fight Jorge. It would be good to tell Leon that Jorge hasn't won a fight in almost 4 years and the win was against Nate.
And...? Is he not allowed to have a preferred option or what?

I hope you guys don't believe Leon would duck everyone but Jorge? Like he said, there's a storyline there to sell it and he want to punish Mas for his cowardice.
So him denying Colby a shot has nothing to do with his story with Mas, it's solely based upon that it doesn't make any sense whatsoever for that fight to be made.

Lol if Dana white said Colby is next, if he said this at a press conference immediately after the Usman fight then Leon sorry dude, Colby's taking your title y

Leon went from being hated to becoming a fan favorite

Colby puts ass's in the seats and this is Prize fighting, so it's pretty simple really. If Leon rufuses the fight Dana will just strip him. Colby has been fairly inactive, but has ran through everybody that's been put in front of him not named Kamaru Usman.

The Usman fights were also very competitive. Plus he went through a fight camp and cut weight as an alternate for the Edwards Usman fight. The people that act like Colby getting a title shot is 100% bullshit just get offended by him and don't like him.

The last thing Leon wants is to make an enemy of Dana. If he really refuses to play ball, as soon as he loses that belt it's game over. He will be given the worst possible match ups and cut at the soonest opportunity. I love Leon and his story but let's be honest, his style is incredibly boring. The head kick made a lot of people forget about the rest of his career.
That all changes when you become champion especially in Edwards case (being English means he has the whole uk demographic now). Stipe was difficult and he's about to get another title shot without a contender fight, Colby himself wasn't in Dana good graces not long ago but since his first title fight he's been given anything he asks for. Even without the belt he will be big for UK events as the former champion or title challenger.

Not a fan of Colby but sick of "champs" refusing to fight. Great that Colby haters are beating their chests, but this is a poor precedent to set. Champ decides who he will/won't fight. That's a recipe for absolute disaster in the UFC.

The last thing we need is the UFC adopting boxing's business model.

Isn't that like saying "Don't call it a sport if title shots aren't based on merit"?

Dana made these rules and Edwards is playing by them. If you demand someone must be to blame, at least be clever enough to blame the right party.
Leon signed and fights for the UFC, boss tells you to do your job, you do your job, it's that easy. If Leon doesn't like it, he can start his own fight club and do whatever he wants.

As a champ you can’t say you are not going to fight. The UFC will move on without you and take that belt away. This stubborn champ trend is only hurting the fighters. They are overestimating how much pull they have.
