In the long game that didn't benefit anybody. Ngannou beat Gane, then walked out. Gane eventually fought jones for the vacant belt and got embarrassed. Jones is a bigger draw out of the 4 involved there but he's also guy most likely to screw up everything and cause the belt to be vacated again. And if Ngannou ever gets his boxing fight with one of the big 3 he wants he'll prove himself right even with a loss.

But Leon beat Usman twice while Colby lost to him twice.

Leon also lost as a 22 year old kid who was fighting a wrestler for the first time in his entire career when he lost to Usman.

Colby lost to him twice at the absolute peak of his powers. In his early 30s (like Leon is now) and fighting for the world championship.

When Colby was 22 he hadn't even began his MMA career.

Colby has also been finished in two of his three losses whilst Leon never has been. He has lost a UD, a split that he should have got the win on, and lost on a BS DQ in a fight he was handily winning.

It's the first thing I did, searched on YT to get the full context. And there he tells Ariel that his decision is not about Masvidal, who for all he knows could lose to Gilbert.
He says something along the lines of "Even Khamzat would be outconquered for years" as to point out the absurdity of UFC's ways. Also says he will fight Colby with another top 5 win,
but that he should start there in his comback after a long hiatus.

Also, it's more about how the UFC are working. He got to know on twitter that Colby was weighing in, when he had just been there for the weigh-in himself. Two days before the actual fight.
They had told him nothing about it, and the question is, why didn't they? What's with all the hush hush from the UFC?

In the post fight press conference he says Colby doesn't deserve it and if Masvidal wins he want to fight Jorge. It would be good to tell Leon that Jorge hasn't won a fight in almost 4 years and the win was against Nate.
