Media Leon says he will NOT sign contract vs. Colby Covington

I’m behind ALL of that.

But if he chooses anybody other than Belal.

He loses me forever.

I’m working on a novel right now, about this very same shit. I don’t know which sub I should post it in.

Hopefully somebody creates a relevant thread in the Heavies. I’ll coattail all of that.
I have something I want to say.
What about the direct line from the reporter that Colby was a big draw, and Leon countering with Mas is an even bigger draw? Did you watch the press conference before making that statement?

Good for him, much respect if he actually sticks to his guns and follows through on it.

strip him of the belt. ufc needs to keep divas under the thumb.

leon is a fighter, not the match maker
He’s establishing a negotiating position, as befits any man in his situation to do so.

Unfortunately many sherdoggers are to stupid/gullible/naturally subservient to be able to comprehend this and are lashing out at him as a result.

lol, you probably work for someone else like a simp.

i'm a free man with fuck you money.

Strip him and make Colby fight Khamzat.

The only thing that works against Leon arguing that Colby only beat Jorge and shouldn't get a shot off that win .... But he beat the last guy Jorge beat for a title shot.

I agree Colby doesn't deserve it having sat out for a year. But he is still ranked at #3 I believe. I think really, he should fight Belal in a title eliminator. But he's obviously not gonna do that ... sooooooo.

Somehow and some way, I think it will get booked

Dana should strip Edwards if he doesn't fight Colby. And he will, since Leon Edwards is a complete nobody. Edwards has even less power than Ngannou, who learned how little he had after the UFC refused to cater to him.

Title shots have never been based on merit. In fact they are not based on anything, the UFC can do whatever the fuck it wants. There is no prerequisite, so long as the UFC thinks it can sell it (Will it make money, does it appear competitive, will it draw interest). They don't care what rank you are or how active you are. Money talks.

We like to laud how fighters are independent contractors. There are lots of contractors looking for the same work, they all want the best gigs and not everybody can have them. Sometimes when you're hiring for a job, you go with the guy you already know. Other times you're just looking for the best fit, and not who's the most decorated.

Dana will make Colby vs Burns/Mas/Belal for Interim belt, the ln shelve Leon until next year.

I like his resolve but they will probably just push more money into his pocket until he accepts.

UFC seems pretty intent on Colby being the guy.
At minimum this. There is barely any doubt in my mind that Leon's next defense will be against Colby.

Also, relevant is that recent history shows that the UFC won't hesitate to play hardball with any champ. Leon will have to tow the line, though they will probably sweeten it a bit for him.

That is literally NOT what he said. That shit has already been debunked. Educate yourself.

When he sees the 0s on the contract, he will change his mind real quick.

Are you high?
Colby's last win was #10 Masvidal and that's his whopping 1 fight win streak.

Belal's last win was #8 Brady, and thats an 8 fight win streak...you point is moot.
Masvidal was #6.
