Lenne Hardt vs Bruce Buffer

Constructive criticism of Lenne Hardt:
- Rolls "R's" way too hard/long/often
- Drawn out syllables, weird vocal cadences, and varying enunciation and emphatic volumes make it difficult to understand fighters' names, even if you know who she is announcing.

She can still be the best or worst, or somewhere in-between - maybe you appreciate, enjoy, or even disagree with the stated points. Everybody has some pros and cons, and those are her shortcomings for me, personally.

Boooooooooo!!!

Its hard choice for me bur I almost prefer the classic simplicity and unobtrusiveness Lenne Hardt It actually wasnt that simple with the light and firework show.....the only thing I can liken it to is Mad Max Thunderdome on sterioids I actually went to a few pride events and those intros got my blood crawling in a good way .....she was so damn good

Lol what? Lenne Hardt's screaming is anything but unobtrusive or simplistic. What an odd choice of words.

Bruce Buffer sounds like what you would expect a ring announcer to sound like. Bombastic, masculine voice. Pronounces words normally. Lenne is unique for sure, just not unobtrusive or simplistic in the slightest. There's a reason she's called the crazy Pride lady.

She is the best and then there's the rest sir.

I have grown tired of Buffer and his shtick, he’s been doing it for 20 plus years and he’s heading towards 70 , I don’t realize how old his act is now until Joe Martinez is filling in

They don't do the same job

She just screams when they are on the way to the ring.

Buff is a MC, that incites the crowd and the fighters into a bloodthirsty frenzy.

She does more than scream sir.
She sets the table for the meal that will soon take place.

I like Buff but she's definitely better.

For the WWE circus type of show that was Pride, she worked. But to describe her as simplistic or unobtrusive? Lol no. She's anything but. She would not work in an American promotion. Her screeching would be a turn off to a casual and if you don't know the fighters you can't even tell what names she's saying half the time. The basic job of a ring announcer is to tell you who's fighting and she's probably the worst at that out of everyone mentioned.

Hardt wouldn't work for the primarily US / mainstream audience, she fit well for Pride but it would make UFC feel like pro wrestling the way she speaks.

I don't think she'd scare anyone away, and no she's not unobtrusive or simplistic.

And to act like UFC is not exactly a "WWF circus type show" is pretty untruthful sir.

The whole company is based on the pro wrestling model...are you ok? Lol

Put your UFC/Pride fanboy mindset aside. If you're a casual in the audience you can tell what Bruce Buffer, Michael C Williams, or Joe Martinez are saying. You can't with Lenne Hardt. They are all objectively better at the basic job of ring announcing. She's a gimmick.

the lady had better vocals easily, but buffer was a visual spectacle

She's one of the reasons I loved PRIDE.
The same announcing style that's been happening in boxing for a million years is stale sir.

this is why buffer is often better, the visuals, and it's laughable at times

No, its def more based on boxing than pro wrestling. Pro wrestling just happens to be promoted similarly to fighting sports, but having some lady screaming while a guy is on the way to the ring would def alienate the boxing fans tuning in.

I like Lenne Hardt and though what she did in PRIDE was awesome, but it fit there, in Japan. It would not really work at all in the UFC.

The Buff has a different job, he's the guy in the ring. Def a totally different thing. He doesnt just yell into a mic where nobody's watchin him.

He's got to whip the crowd and the fighters into murderous bloodlust, and thats his appeal, even if his voice talent isnt on the level of Hardt or others, he generates more excitement than almost all the others.

Kei Grant was the MC in pride for the main events. He was the guy you should compare to Buffer. He was awesome.

UFC is absolutely a freak show that was modeled on the WWF.
The way they promote, the way they force drama etc.

Either way she's better than Buff.
